Aviation Business Systems Analyst

NEC is seeking a Business Analyst to assist its' ARS Aviation Team to analyze complex business problems to be solved with NEC's aviation platform systems, software and solutions. The desired candidate will provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Configures and defines system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet internal and external business requirements. Designs details of automated systems. May provide consultation and training to users in the area of NEC's aviation products and solutions. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues.
Translates business and user requirements into system requirement specifications as user stories in Team Foundation Server for tracking to fruition. Helps lead and will be a strong contributor to development of and maintaining Epics, User Stories, Features and associated Work Items. Acts as the key interface between business and technology teams in defining and influencing business requirements and assists in developing the appropriate system solutions. Understands the business implications of technical solutions, and assists in defining the technology solutions to support any future business requirements. The position requires a team player with business analysis skills and technical experience with the ability to work well in a large-scale IT team environment, as well as skills to facilitate communication, influence, solve problems, and think analytically with decisiveness. Provides support to management with financial reporting, analysis and modeling as needed.
The desired candidate should possess the following:
Strong communication skills, especially with documentation of customer meetings as well as internal team meetings
Self-starter mentality with ability to take initiative where opportunities arise
Facilitate discussions with customers to ensure clear, comprehensive and accurate requirements are gathered early on and throughout the project lifecycle
Strong understanding of modern software development methodologies including devops, scrum, PRINCE2, PMBOK, etc.
Experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications
Working understanding and experience with Microsoft Project
Ability to travel to customer site as needed
Nice to have:
Certified Scrum Master certificate
Experience as a Scrum Master
Understanding of business service management tools, concepts and best practices
Understanding of the international aviation industry
Understanding of modern biometrics collection technology
Exerience in the aviation industry - ie. passenger facilitation - check in, boarding, baggage, etc
