Summary of Position: The Business System Analyst will provide analysis and second-tier support from identification to resolution of complex system/technical issues. In addition, he/shewill be the functional expert and bridge between business users and development groups and will drive delivery of business solutions that leverage technology.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides second-tier support for complex technical issues using experience and judgment as well as pre-established procedures and instructions to identify, research and resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Assist Tier I personnel to solve basic technical problems and investigate elevated issues by confirming the validity of the problem and seeking known solutions related to these more complex issues.

  • Work alongside internal integration team to troubleshoot integration issues between scheduling tool and ERP Systems.

  • Works with end users to gain understanding of business processes' and procedures. Identify where additional technological efficiencies could be delivered. Apply current business processes to new or existing application functionality to better align with business needs. Documents functional requirements needed to fulfill the business requirements

  • Proactively track and analyze incoming software issues to identify problem trends and known error conditions and develop technical and training solutions to minimize reoccurrences and severity until a permanent solution is implemented.

  • Responsible for testing and deployment of new and enhanced functionality in releases. Document test and rollout plans with milestones, assign activities to other team members, communicate and monitor timelines for release. Ensures knowledge transfer to the Business occurs prior to a system go-live. Creates support documentation for rollouts and PowerPoint presentations for webinars and conduct training as needed and coordinate deployment.

  • Manage enhancement requests from initial requirement definition, through testing, implementation and ongoing maintenance. Serve as the liaison between the Business and Hyphen during the design phase ensuring requestor' expectations are met. Develop and track timelines, create test scripts, perform tests, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlines to ensure a timely and efficient delivery to our end users. Develop both internal & external documentation, including process flows and procedures guides.

  • Document functional requirements that describe the system, process, or product to be used to fulfill new business requirements. Map current business processes and functional requirements to new automated solution with gap analysis. Determine how such solutions will impact existing work processes and systems, and how to manage the integration of new process' or functionality.

  • Work closely with Project Managers on large projects, or may be required to act as the Project Manager on smaller projects

  • Develop record and publish support knowledgebase for end users for use in troubleshooting, training, and other areas as defined. Update training documentation to reflect new functionality as deployed.

  • Provide training to the end users as needed via WebEx or in person.

Education and Experience

Requirements:
  • College degree required;

  • Must have 7-10 years of recent experience as Business Systems Analyst or Business Analyst in a technology environment

  • Experience with Construction scheduling software or a strong background in homebuilding concepts or supply chain management STRONGLY PREFERRED

  • Experience working with users and supporting development teams in resolving issues.

  • A working knowledge of back office system / ERP / such as JD Edwards a plus

  • Excellent understanding Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Visio, MS Project, Power Point

  • Knowledge and experience with help desk software and standard customer service principles and practices

Physical Requirements:

  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

  • Sitting for extended periods of time.

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices.

  • Physically able to participate in online and in person training sessions, presentations, and meetings.

  • Some travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management

Essential Duties * Develop processes to ensure proper analysis is completed for both IT and business systems as requested and applicable * Leads detailed business requirement elicitation and documentation for software, IT and business enhancement project requests to ensure successful execution of projects * Coordinates with the business, and internal technology teams to drive and document the completion of requirements and business cases to communicate short and long-term solution needs, success metrics, objectives, cost and development estimates and build or buy decisions. * Works with North America and International Operations to understand unique business needs and requirements. * Ensures projects meet the needs of the users and that quality and resource commitments are met. * Serves as liaison between the business community and execution or technical team members to ensure that its needs are fully understood by the project team. * Fosters and coordinates communication across multiple work streams, business functions and projects * Drives process improvement projects or re-engineering by documenting and analyzing business processes and works with business teams to identify gaps and remediation plans.
