Purpose:

The Business System Analyst (Actuarial) is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements for Agile scrum teams and project initiatives. This role will also work across business units to understand requirements for the Actuarial Data Center to document business need, gather necessary data, and retire old processes, which may require analysis and coding in SAS, SQL, R and/or Python. This BSA will work in modernization efforts using AWS. This role will also assist in user acceptance testing, bug identification and remediation, and implementation of improvements. The BSA will support production processes and communication with Actuarial business units.

Accountabilities:

• Facilitates business requirement sessions with stakeholders across the organization, developing comprehensive documentation that aligns with business needs

• Translates business requirements into functional specifications, working in tandem with IT resources to develop technical solutions

• Collaborates with delivery team resources within the agile framework to create and refine user stories, coordinating user acceptance testing to ensure quality standards are met

• Provides support for incident/defect management for BAU and/or project deliveries

• Serves as backup for other BSAs during projects, refinement sessions, and Production Support activities

• Implements best practices to ensure there is consistency in standards and execution

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required

• 1+ years business analysis experience strongly preferred

• 1+ years Annuity experience strongly preferred

• 1+ years Actuarial experience preferred

• Experience using SQL, SAS, Python or R strongly preferred

• Experience using AWS is a plus

• Understanding of business analysis concepts (business process modeling, context diagrams, use cases, user stories, etc.)

• Understanding of techniques used in requirements elicitation, project scoping, requirements analysis, and planning and analysis activities

• Ability to tailor a message to a specific audience

• Basic understanding of Project Management and SDLC processes

• Demonstrates basic understanding of annuity concepts

• Experience in the financial services industry is a plus

• Experience using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access, Visio, Project, PowerPoint)

• Willing to hire candidates at higher levels dependent upon qualifications
