Liaison between IT and other functional areas with primary goal to facilitate the implementation of processes and improvements using the Oracle EBS and related systems. Interacts regularly and directly with manufacturing, planning, procurement, engineering, order mgmt. and finance business functions. Has close user working relationship to ensure industry and Emerson standards / best practices are employed.

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze & evaluate current business systems and user needs in order to develop, enhance, implement and maintain fully functional, integrated and operational business systems within Oracle and related systems, following IT standards.

  • Assist in the identification of system issue root cause and work with appropriate resources to implement corrective actions as required. Documents user requirements and tests issues in the respective module to re-create applications issues or determine whether new user requirements can be met through existing application functionality or requires customizations.

  • Develop & maintain user documentation, perform user training, and provide user support in conjunction with appropriate IT resources.

  • Facilitate discussions with end users to translate business requirements into functional specifications.

  • Function as a liaison and Test Champion between business and technical units and work with the technical staff to design solutions that meet business requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or IT related field. Computer Science or similar field preferred.

  • 8 years in the field or in a related area.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Must understand the needs of not just users but the organization as a whole and be able to provide the best overall solutions.

  • In depth knowledge of ORACLE EBS system modules (Operations / ASCP)

  • Sound understanding of development & programming practices.

  • Strong understanding of general business processes in a manufacturing environment.

  • Familiar with key business concepts, practices, and procedures in the manufacturing industry.

  • ORACLE EBS experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with Oracle DB, SQL Queries, Toad for Oracle.

  • SQL or similar programming experience preferred

  • Knowledge of good business practices for change control and documentation.

  • Good interpersonal skills as direct dealing with end users will be part of daily tasks.

  • Able to deal with multiple projects (short & long term with specified deadlines) in addition to unexpected day-to-day issues.

  • Able to work independently

  • Self-motivated and organized

Provide project management and/or project task coordination on assigned projects. Develop designs and processes with the goal of continuously improving custom design efficiencies Responsibilities Design Engineering (35-45%) - Designs and develops pressure control solutions within established guidelines, objectives and schedules as assigned by management. Defines new product specifications and requirements from Marketing and customer supplied application information. * Specifies, programs, tests and validates equipment and processes in the area of mechanical control and instrumentation. * Develops design and process flow charts, schematics, controlled drawings, procedures and documentation, reviewing and maintaining product files for appropriate records on assigned products. * Designs and develops new products and redesigns existing products within established guidelines, objectives, and schedules as assigned. Project Management (25-35%) – Plan, organize, and coordinate activities on assigned projects; Assure assigned projects are processed to a successful completion with appropriate team/functional participation, leading complex projects with moderate supervision. * Ensure thorough communication throughout team/functional participants, clearly defining expectations and responsibilities; * Assure detailed project files and documentation are established and maintained. * Responsible for collecting, forecasting and monitoring project cost & scheduling information. * Acquire sufficient knowledge of the MRP system to understand the needs of, and expectations for, the department and its interactive role with the division. Sales Support (10-20%) - Aid in project quotation and technical support as required. * Travel to support customer request as required. * Provide industry knowledge to help solve customer challenges. * Provide time and cost estimates as required. Sustaining (10-20%) - Lead the mechanical control and instrumentation activities for design engineering by assuring ongoing and thorough communication to the organization. * Coordinates and directs drafters, technicians, engineers and other personnel as projects require. * Participate on teams to improve communication between functional groups to support assigned product lines, to improve processes, and to develop and introduce new products. * Maintains assigned products by solving design-related production problems. Evaluates improving product performance and producibility. Performs cost reduction programs and implements changes. Reviews and maintains product files for appropriate records on assigned products. Apparent or Assigned - Performs related work as apparent or assigned. Requirements * Bachelors Science Mechanical Engineering or equivalent related degree * 8 – 10 years professional experience in the field of automation and design * Thorough understanding of PID control system theory * Knowledge and skills in pressure vessel design and standards * Knowledge and skills in CAD/CAE-applications (such as AutoCAD or Unigraphics NX) and MS Office * Proven skills in measurement and control technology * Proven knowledge of Industrial standards and regulations * Five years' experience in an MRP manufacturing environment. * Five years' experience in development project organization and implementation. * Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal/written) effectively with customers, suppliers and employees. * Demonstrated ability to work in a cooperative and team-oriented environment. * Demonstrated effective interaction with customers and suppliers. * Experienced in project management; PMP preferred According to Government Regulations all employees in this job classification must be a US Citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
