JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The WorkLion Management Office (WMO), responsible for ongoing support and development of the Workday Human Capital Management and Payroll system, is seeking a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) who will work with stakeholders including end-users, Business Analysts, subject matter experts, vendors, and HR Shared Services to support the ongoing functions of Workday and the operation of the WMO. The BSA will maintain a detailed understanding of Workday for designated area(s) and will be primarily responsible for Tier 2 support, which includes completing day-to-day operational tasks, providing prompt customer service to user inquiries, identifying trends that will improve transactional efficiency, supporting payroll processing, completing data analysis, and providing training. The BSA will also work with Business Analysts and users to test, identify defects, and ensure proper operation of Workday configuration.
Candidates must have strong specialized/analytical ability, be able to use Excel to compile and analyze data from several sources, and present data to support decision making efforts. The BSA will support one or more of the following five functional areas and should have experience working in one or more of these areas:
Human Capital Management (HCM): Experience in at least one of the following areas of Human Resources - compensation, job classification, position management, academics, onboarding, worker data (such as service dates, bargaining unit, personal data, supervisory organizations), talent management, or recruitment.
Employee Benefits: Experience working with employer-sponsored benefit plans (health insurance, retirement plans, life insurance, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, etc.), vendor integration files, and benefit deductions that impact employee pay.
Payroll: Experience with payroll processing for a multi-state employer including payroll calculations, tax reporting, and payroll deductions such as benefits, taxes, parking, etc.
Time Tracking: Experience working with time tracking or time tracking software for bargaining unit employees, exempt staff, non-exempt staff, and part-time hourly employees.
Absence: Experience working with time off (vacation, sick days) and leave of absences (FMLA, paid leaves, unpaid leaves, and workers' compensation). Additionally, understanding various types of employee's time tracking and time off requirements and familiarity with absence language in law and policy.
Typically requires an Associate's Degree or higher plus two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Key competencies for success in this position include the ability to thrive in a team-based environment, understanding the interdependencies of the functional areas and the stakeholders, strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholder groups, and the ability to accurately collect information to understand, assess, and analyze/diagnose problems and support improvements.
Successful candidates will be detail oriented and be comfortable working in a collaborative and diverse environment. Additionally, understanding and performing elements of standard project management methodology is strongly desired. Previous Workday experience is preferred but not required.
