The Manager, Business Support leads a team of professionals who provide records and reporting support to the leaders of Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana's (GCSI's) Education and Mission departments. This role reports directly to the Director, Corporate Impact and Analytics (CIA). The Manager collaborates with internal and external team support to ensure the Education and Mission program needs are satisfied in the areas of data software, reporting, and analysis. The primary tasks are coordination of major projects, grant support, and data analysis. The Manager coordinates with the data collection, storage, and analytics teams; oversees data reporting and software/application support personnel; and assists with data analysis and grant support. This role communicates and coordinates with other IT team members as needed. The Manager fosters a close relationship across the entire IT team, developing rapport with Education and Mission leadership.
Example Duties and Activities
Works with the Business Support team members to develop and support a data reporting and software support strategy.
Oversees and coordinates with team members responsible for data reporting and the Education/Mission data collection tools, such as Synergy (student information system), Caseworthy (Mission participant information system), and the various student outreach tools.
Develops and maintains relationships with each GEI school and Mission program leadership team to identify areas of opportunity and collaboration and ways to better support them through analysis, reporting, and technology.
Provides grant support - working directly with Education, Mission, and Foundation staff to assist with the ongoing support of Education and Mission grants.
Provides data analysis support for Goodwill Education Initiatives (GEI) and coordinates major data analytics projects with the CIA team.
Ensures standardized reports are delivered accurately and on time depending upon the requirement.
Provides assistance to the Director, including attending various internal and external meetings, serving on major new initiatives, completing special projects, and serving as an extension of IT leadership.
Networks across the organization and with strategic external partners to understand and best support the full scope of services.
Assists in the support and administration of systems.
Manages and supervises a team of 2-3 direct reports. Conducts regular one-on-one meetings with each member of the team. Assesses knowledge and skills of team members. Assists staff in identifying strengths and/or gaps, and develops strategies to optimize strengths and address gaps using a strength-based approach.
Motivates employees to achieve key performance indicators, conducts performance reviews, and provides feedback through coaching.
Implements professional development and succession plans for self and key staff.
Coordinates major projects and new initiatives across the IT, Data, and Education/Mission teams in order to ensure their success.
Identifies and manages projects for the Business Support Team, delegating or executing required work for those projects, and communicating the outcomes of those projects.

Industry Experience- Has worked analyzing data and communicating findings to a wide variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders. Works with leaders to implement data-driven program changes and new initiatives. Adept at using Microsoft Excel and business intelligence tools, ensuring data quality, and using data systems.
Proven Leadership- Leads, develops, and gets results for a team, department, or organization through qualities of integrity, accountability, empathy, humility, resilience, vision, influence, and positivity, in a leadership role either managing people or projects.
