Come join our team! The Business Support Manager oversees a team within the Office of Financial Services that manages the City's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

This role involves partnering with City departments to coordinate a vision for ERP system development and roadmap that supports all ERP modules. The Business Support Manager also coordinates with the Office of Technology and Communications (OTC) for the use of ERP tools to ensure sustainable system development within the City environment.

Here is what you can expect to do:

  • Manages Business Support personnel and consultants to ensure requested service and support are delivered in a timely manner;

  • Leads ERP system projects from inception to completion, including preparation and interpretation of project specifications;

  • Works directly with subject matter experts, OTC, and ERP system consultants to identify and implement efficiencies;

  • Researches and resolves ERP functional issues that arise from system upgrades, new features, fixes or patches applied, and user issues;

  • Establishes procedural standards and best practices for system usage;

  • Analyzes and solves ERP system business data flow issues, including configuration, troubleshooting, research, and resolution;

  • Provides customer service, training opportunities, and resources to ERP system users.

Eight years of progressively responsible experience in a majority of the following: supervision or leadership, project and program development, and/or project planning.

OR

Bachelor's degree with coursework in Public Administration, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Economics, Management, Human Services, Social Work, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a field related to the vacancy. Four years of progressively responsible experience in a majority of the following: supervision or leadership, project and program development, and/or project planning.

NOTE: A Master's Degree in Accounting, Economics, Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a closely related field, may be substituted for two years of the related experience listed above.

Position-specific preferred qualifications:

  • Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and business processes in a wide array of functional areas, resolving system issues, and making implementation enhancements.

  • Knowledge of public sector accounting and financial management

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Open Job Posting: This posting is open to anyone who meets the position requirements.

Eligible Lists: Eligible lists are typically created from a pass/fail assessment.

Those who pass the assessment will be placed on an eligible list for approximately six months. Hiring Managers may interview/hire anyone from the list.

Final Selection Process: You must receive a score of 75% or higher to pass the assessment and be considered for the position.

Those who pass will be placed on an eligible list and all will be notified of their status. A Hiring Manager will consider those applicants eligible for hire. You will be notified if you are invited to participate in the final selection process which may include an interview, job simulation, work sample submission, or other evaluation method.

Pre-Employment Screening: This position requires a background check which may include criminal history, and employment history as a condition of employment. Candidates will be required to submit proof of education to Human Resources upon conditional job offer, if qualifying based on education.
