Role Overview

Responsible for overseeing strategic priorities, business operations, and business controls for Enterprise Independent Testing. EIT is a centralized group within Global Risk Management that conducts independent testing and provides consistency and expertise in test development and execution. Testing is conducted throughout the year and provides ongoing feedback to monitor (and improve) processes. EIT works with Compliance and Operational Risk to test laws, rules, and regulations (compliance risk) and effectiveness of processes (operational risk). EIT will also provide independent testing services to our front line unit and control partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Owns coordination of EIT business activities including strategic planning, initiative planning/management, management routines, town halls and communication activities

  • Prepares the EIT leader for key meetings, overseeing the preparation of relevant materials and talking points (e.g. Quarterly Business Reviews, regulatory meetings, committee meetings)

  • Partners with HR on workforce planning, location strategy, organizational health and engagement strategies

  • Oversees the status of critical business measures including Risk and LOB owned issues, SIM/OpEx/ECoM process, financials and provides periodic reviews related to these topics

  • Partners with centralized business operations and controls teams on the strategy and execution of Associate Investment Monitoring, records management, Recovery and Resolution Planning, third party management, expense management and location strategy

  • Partners with Business Strategy and Initiatives team . . .

  • Partners with other COOs in GRM to ensure consistency, best practices, etc.

  • Connects with ESDI and learning council to plan and execute deliverables

  • Individual contributor but dedicated resource support

Required Skills and Experiences

  • 10+ years of experience in financial services industry or experience in a related field

  • Ability to influence and effectively challenge senior leaders across EIT to challenge the status quo, produce appropriate changes and implement goals

  • Effectively and efficiently coordinates and drives execution of key priorities

  • Anticipates needs of the EIT SLT

  • Proven business operations and business controls experience

  • Working knowledge of risk management and regulatory interactions

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; focus on attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Enterprise Role Overview:

Manages administrative support nationally for a business unit, to include developing strategy, measurements, reporting and administration. Consults with senior management in evaluating current methods and developing strategies to implement changes and improvements. Requires a deep understanding of business unit products, services and processes, and excellent analytical abilities.

The team works in partnership with all employees within CB including business managers, senior management and all related support groups (Business Management, Finance, HR, Real Estate, Compliance, Technology, etc.).
