General Description

The chief objective of the Business Solutions Analyst position is to provide analytical, functional and technical support for NOVA's implementation and use of business applications. Serving as a member of the Customer Engagement team, the position is responsible for building strong business understanding and relationship and enable the delivery of technology solutions that meet customer needs and requirements.

Duties and Tasks

  • Gather requirements and/or conduct needs assessments to evaluate project/program feasibility

  • Build relationships with customers at ground level, bridging the gap between IT and functional stakeholders to improve processes, products, and services through data analysis and requirements definition

  • Collaborate with project, technical and subject matter experts to establish the vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.

  • Demonstrate high aptitude for problem-solving methodologies for highly complex issues using data-driven decision-making practices.

  • Institute proven portfolio management concepts, including business and IT alignment, prioritization, identifying roles and responsibilities, and service delivery.

  • Recommends and applies strategic thinking, process improvement, and re-engineering methodologies and principles to projects

  • Employs industry-standard tools to manage requirements and configurations to support business modeling activities.

  • Maintain requirements and other documentation in alignment with project management guidelines and standards

  • Perform user acceptance testing and ensure development is based on the documented requirements

  • Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into user stories and operational requirements.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft technologies including O365, Power BI, Power AppsVisio and Teams

  • Capable of taking ownership of tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Results-oriented team player, who communicates and works with different levels of the organization.

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to changing priorities.

  • Advanced analytical, project planning, negotiating, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and oral).

  • Knowledge of basic IT architecture and technical documentation methods

  • Knowledge of design tools, methods and techniques to develop requirements and specifications that meet identified business needs

  • Ability to identify and analyze the design and development of new or enhanced applications

  • Knowledge of business process engineering concepts and methods sufficient to lead/conduct studies designed to identify potential improvements in the way IT is applied to key business functions.

  • Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, guidelines, and Power Point presentations.

  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Ability to write technical, business, and plain language documents and/or emails, with great attention to detail in all written communications.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects as a project team member, occasionally as a project leader.

  • Working knowledge of technology governance process

  • Experience in business solutions analysis and process improvement

  • Experience in analyzing, planning and implementing new and improved technology solutions and systems to meet business needs

  • Experience in requirements gathering, project documentation, report writing, and executive presentations

  • Experience providing transformational customer experience in technology services

  • Experience marketing and implementing new technology

  • Experience with MS Office Suite and project management tools

  • Experience researching commercial off-the-shelf software solutions to support business needs.

  • Experience providing technical support to end users and related customer services
