Job Description


The Business SFDC Developer will be responsible to perform the necessary design and development of Salesforce solutions that support cross-functional business needs of Vistra Energy

  • Retail and align with longer term best practice standards within Vistra Technology.


  • Design, develop and implement enhancements to the Salesforce and supporting cloud applications to deliver on the functional support needs of Vistra Energy
  • Retail as they relate to Salesforce solutions
  • Follow support and development processes and standards to ensure the Salesforce solutions are achieving business outcomes and objectives

  • Understand metrics and monitoring to diagnose and resolve potential issues in the Salesforce application

  • Work closely with Vistra Technology, cloud vendors, service providers, AppExchange partners and internal teams to deliver Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements with a collaborative spirit

  • Participate in Salesforce development projects, the creation of Salesforce development business cases and evaluate and recommend Salesforce AppExchange and cloud service providers and products to meet business needs

  • Research and evaluate market insight of current and future technology innovations regarding Salesforce modules and functionality and make recommendations

  • Consult on application or infrastructure development and support projects to identify impact to Salesforce solutions and address any potential gaps


  • BS or BA degree in business, information systems, computer science, system analysis with an emphasis in information technology

  • 4 plus years of experience in application development & database management

  • CRM Platform experience, implementing and enhancing Sales and / or Service Cloud.

  • DEV401 level certification is a plus; Advanced Developer certification is a plus

  • Experience in at least one full life-cycle implementation of

  • Hands on experience in Apex / JAVA

  • Experience developing for Salesforce Lightning Experience Lightning component / connect experience preferred

  • Experience developing for Salesforce1 Mobile Platform

  • Basic leadership skills with mature interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiations

  • Excellent analytical and technical skills as well as working acumen in one or more software development &/or support methodologies

  • Ability to translate business needs and apply multiple solution recommendations to business problems.

  • Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes.

  • Ability to understand the long-term ("Big Picture") and short-term perspectives of situations and relative trade-off judgments

  • Ability to estimate the financial impacts and frame the relative strengths & weaknesses around competing alternatives

The Business Intelligence Developer provides application, data management, and reporting support for financial, human capital, and operational systems all in an entirely Microsoft environment. He/she ensures the successful transmission of data from both internal and external systems, validation of the received data, and accurate processing of the data into the target systems. He/she establishes controls to ensure the validity of the data and develops processes to automate these tasks. He/she builds databases, develops reports, and creates the underlying processes to extract, transform, and load the data as needed to deliver the required information. He/she works with data in varying formats, including CSV, EXCEL and RDBMS. This position demands strong knowledge of Microsoft Business Intelligence Suite of tools for data analysis, package design/execution/management, generation of reports, and ad hoc queries. A critical component of this role is the ability to act as a, "public facing" team member partnering with peer department stake holders, gathering business requirements for initiatives, developing a solution set, and executing the tasks to deliver the solution. General knowledge of accounting, payroll, financial, and retail systems is a plus. Key Performance Elements/Essential Functions Specific Areas of Focus Include * Deliver, at all times, the highest level of professionalism, compassion, and customer service to all constituents (home office personnel and restaurant level operators). * Performs a key contributor role in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data discovery, data modeling, data access, data integration and data visualization. * Responsibilities will include gathering requirements, gaining business consensus, mentoring business resources, delivering solutions, training, and documentation. * Follows industry standards and guidelines for the design & development, tuning, deployment, and maintenance of information, advanced data analytics and physical data persistence technologies. * Working knowledge of analytic environments required for structured, semi-structured and unstructured data. Proven track record to drive rapid prototyping and design for new projects and analytic R&D environments. Ability to translate broader business initiatives into objectives and concrete goals and aligning appropriately with other groups for efficient and coordinated action. * Draws conclusions and effectively communicates findings with both technical and non-technical team members. * Works to understand the business requirements and business processes, to design the data warehouse ("DW") schema and extract-load-transform ("ELT") processes for DW. * Participates in projects and works with project teams to ensure implementation using both Agile and Waterfall methods. * Draws conclusions and effectively communicates findings with both technical and non-technical team members, providing valuable input and insights to project team and business community. * Experience in and understanding of a wide variety of enterprise concepts (governance, change management, information security, etc.). * A solid understanding of key BI trends. Education * Bachelor's degree in relevant technical field preferred, and 3+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Qualifications * A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related area, during which technical capabilities have been clearly demonstrated. * Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (or newer) and T-SQL. * Experience working with Microsoft Business Intelligence Tools; SSIS, SSAS (Tabular and Multidimensional), SSRS, PowerBI and Visual Studio 2015 (or newer). * Expertise in Multidimensional and Tabular data modeling, both logical and physical. * Solid experience with Business Intelligence concepts and Data Warehouse development patterns. * Experience in collecting business requirements from customers and transforming the requirements into high/low level design documents, data flows and data models. * Proven skills to work effectively across internal functional areas in ambiguous situations. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Outstanding verbal, written and visual presentation skills. * Structured thinker and effective communicator, comfortable with interacting with customers.
