Primary Purpose of the Position:

The North Carolina Aquariums at Pine Knoll Shores is seeking a dynamic, efficient, and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Business Services Manager. This position is to provide administrative assistance to the Director with oversight in budgetary matters, fiscal operations, purchasing coordination and office staff management.

Key Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring and adjusting the Aquarium budget.

  • Supervising secretarial, reception, seasonal, and volunteer office staff

  • Coordinating fiscal processes

  • Managing personnel and payroll records

  • Managing operational and program files

  • Special projects

  • Other duties as assigned by the Director

Position Requirements:

  • Must have a valid NC driver's license or obtain one upon employment.

  • Some travel may be required.

  • Weekend, holiday, and evening work may also be required

Management Preferences:

  • Supervisory experience

Section/Unit Description:

The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores is located 6 miles from Morehead City, NC, on Bogue Banks, sits adjacent to Bogue Sound. A living collection of over 2,500 animals in 90,000 square feet of exhibit space attracts and engages over 400,000 visitors each year. The Aquarium is located in the middle of Roosevelt Natural Area, a state park of maritime forest and wetland ecosystems.

Qualified candidates must have or be able to:

  • Experience managing budgets, accounting software, and purchasing supplies

  • Experience with human resources practices and procedures

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Customer service experience
