The PA CareerLink Business Service Representative will have a concentrated focus on justice involved youth and adults and is responsible for all business interactions, job lead generation for participants, and job matching services. The representative is expected to have a thorough understanding of the criminal justice system, its impact on people and families, the local labor market, and business needs.


  • Serve as the primary liaison between businesses and PA CareerLink customers. Excel at matching customer skills/interests to open positions.

    Maintain up to date knowledge on the criminal justice system, the local labor market, and criminal justice research. Be able to communicate these complex ideas and processes to business leaders, community agencies, etc. Generate job leads for participants that focus on career pathways and life sustaining employment Present various PA CareerLink services to business, such as:

    WOTC, Federal Bonding, OJT, ITA, Paid Work Experience, Ban the Box, etc. Coordinate Paid Work Experience opportunities for participants in conjunction with business needs Collect data and generate reports Enter all relevant participant and business engagement data within the PA CareerLink system of record (CWDS) Assist in the coordination of Reentry partners in the South Central Region and represent reentry in all SCPa Works, PA CareerLink and Partner meetings


  • Business or Sales experience preferred Experience working with criminal justice system partners and justice involved individuals Experience with public speaking Must be able to interact with customers of all backgrounds and advocate on their behalf with employers Have a deep level of empathy and excellent listening skills Be able to work remotely or in person as required Proficient in MS Office applications Valid Driver's License and an automobile are required

Must be flexible and able to work as a team member and support team decisions.</li> <li>General knowledge of a PC based computer system desirable. Knowledge of various software packages with ability to learn additional software packages as needed.</li> <li>Must be able to multi-task and to prioritize assignments.</li> <li>Must have good organizational skills and be able to work independently. </li> </ul><p><strong>Experience</strong></p><ul> <li>Two to three years clerical experience including word processing, various filing systems, and telephone customer service responsibilities.</li> <li> Prior work in a healthcare setting <strong>or medical terminology</strong> recommended.
