Job Title: Business Safety Coordinator and Trainer

Reports To: Director of Business and Industry Services

Contract: 12-month

SUMMARY: Responsible for the overall coordination and delivery of BIS safety training within the Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center District.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Program Management:

Coordinate and deliver safety training within the Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center District.

Develop, revise, and update BIS safety training curriculum materials and teach safety classes to clients when needed.

Develop and assist with the implementation of written safety programs for local companies and government entities, and conduct safety audits, when requested.

Recruit, develop, and supervise adjunct instructors to ensure delivered classes meet the training needs of the client.

Select and requisition safety instructional materials, supplies, and equipment.

Regularly visit businesses, industries, and non-profit organizations to create an awareness and market BIS safety training and other EOC Tech BIS services.

Maintain individual client files with appropriate records and upmost confidentiality.

Regularly visit with businesses and government entities to identify and develop new training partnerships.

Maintain constant, professional dialog with businesses in the district to ensure the delivery is relevant, timely and high quality.

Actively seek input from advisory councils, focus groups, and/or business/civic leaders to ensure services are based on community needs.

Record Gathering, Maintenance, and Management

Evaluate and monitor instructors and or adjunct faculty and maintain training records.

Oversee the preparation and submission of BIS safety class rosters, enrollments, and reports required by the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technical Education

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred; or a minimum of three years' experience directly related to safety: or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must participate in Business & Industry Service Certification Program. The BISCP is designed to help BIS Coordinators more effectively meet their communities' training needs.
