Chief Operating Office
Integrated operations organization works collaboratively and consistently across the company. The Chief Operating Office includes core operations functions for each of the lines of business under leaders who have joint reporting relationships. Including Front Line Control for each of the lines of business and enterprise functions, Strategy and Operations Planning, Sales Practices Oversight and Management, Enterprise Shared Services, Strategic Execution & Operations, Corporate Properties Group, Business Continuity and Resiliency, Enterprise Customer Excellence, Supply Chain Management and Chief Administrative Office.
The Role
We are seeking Business Risk and Control Senior Officers who will serve as an important member of the Front Line Control organization for the Enterprise Customer Excellence or Chief Administration Office. This position is accountable to the Control Programs leaders ensuring businesses consistently implement the front line risk programs.
The Control Program for the Customer Excellence and Chief Administration Office is responsible for the governance and execution of front line risk management activities. These activities should be consistent with the framework and policies established by Independent Risk Management (IRM) in coordination with Control teams, Business Control leaders, and Control Executive Governance & Programs team. Activities include governance structure (risk appetite, assessments, risk acceptance, committees & routines), program implementation, RCSA/ERIA/BPM integration, reporting, and issues management and escalation (SHRP, Issues tracking, root cause, corrective action, escalation, etc.)
Specific responsibilities include:
Supports the development of a strong risk and control culture within the group
Escalates concerns and issues to senior leadership and the Board as appropriate, following established protocols
Provides Front Line input to the establishment of enterprise risk programs to ensure risk factors are identified, monitored and considered
Provides guidance and works closely with the leaders in the respective organizations in the establishment of controls in alignment with Enterprise and functional policies and standards. Operationalizes those controls consistent with guidance from Risk Control Executive
Proactively counsels leadership of lines of businesses on new and emerging risks, issue management, and remediation and provides reporting on risks/controls/issues to the respective business leader and Independent Risk Management
Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address known gaps and deficiencies in an effective and timely manner
The successful candidate will also work closely with Senior Managers across the respective businesses and with other Control Executives in the development and execution of company risk management strategies. Accordingly, critical success factors will include the ability to develop partnerships with many functional areas, provide insight into the regulatory climate and identify trends, which may present opportunities or reflect gaps in the Company's strategic execution/direction.

Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access) skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
Experience articulating issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management
Knowledge and understanding of Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) such as reporting and issue management
Other Desired Qualifications
Expertise in one or more of the following: Risk Appetite, Risk Assessments, Risk Acceptance, Risk Committees & Routines, Program implementation, RSCA/ERIA/BPM Integration, Risk Reporting, Issues Management and Escalation
A strong track record and business knowledge in the financial services sector with subject-matter expertise as it pertains to business functions
Demonstrates the ability to make subjective and informed decisions based upon output, influence stakeholders and justify decision making
Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
Experience working horizontally across an organization and participating in enterprise-wide implementations of major policy and relevant risk programs
Demonstrated experience working in a rapidly changing and complex environment
Drive overarching governance routines for the Control Executive team inclusive of providing aggregated views and data/analytical reporting
Demonstrate the ability to influence and navigate across the business; driving the right outcomes based on the needs
