Wells Fargo Technology sets IT strategy; enhances the design, development, and operations of our systems; optimizes the Wells Fargo infrastructure footprint; provides information security; and enables continuous banking access through in-store, online, ATM, and other channels to Wells Fargo's more than 70 million global customers.

These role(s) will be accountable for the risk portfolio for a CTO functional area and ensure all required risk related information is communicated, managed and escalated as appropriate. Ensure development and implementation of mitigation strategies to address known gaps and deficiencies in an effective and timely manner. Serve as a technical SME providing advisory capabilities for defined functional area. Accountable for ensuring functional area strategic plans includes material risk and associated activities consistent with the enterprise risk framework and risk appetite statements. Provide input to the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of control environment in partnership with CTO and Central Services Risk team. Manage relationships and drive collaboration across CTO functional area, Tech Risk Central Services, 2nd line of defense and 3rd line of defense teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 12+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 10+ years must include direct experience in risk management
  • 7+ years of management experience
  • 5+ years of Technology Risk Management experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor, (CISA) Certification in Control Self-Assessment (CCSA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional, (CISSP) or other risk management discipline certification

  • Management experience in an matrixed organization environment

  • Ability to turn preliminary or ambiguous information, ideas, or problems into well-defined plans and solutions

  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders

  • Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities

  • Ability to generate, review, edit, and distribute executive level reports

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Experience working with internal and external auditors and examiners

  • Experience reviewing testing strategies and methodologies; evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, initiatives, products and internal controls; and identifying issues resulting from internal and/or external compliance examinations

Other Desired Qualifications

  • 14+ years of experience within an Enterprise Technology function or Technology Risk function with demonstrated knowledge of Technology systems, applications, infrastructure and emerging Technology and associated risks in a business environment

  • Experience managing and executing information Technology risk programs that align to a Technology Business function

  • Broad and significant knowledge of Technology and the associated challenges, risks and required controls inherent in a complex environment, including knowledge of SDLC, Change Management, Enterprise Architecture, Cloud, Vendor and third party, Data, Artificial Intelligence / Robotics and Process Automation, BCP / Operational Resiliency, problem and incident management, access management, asset management, compliance, information security, Audit/SOC/SOX, and general line of business regulatory requirements across retail banking, lending, capital markets, wealth and investment management, etc.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Technology and Security risk framework COBIT, FFIEC, NIST, ITIL, COSO, BASEL, and OCC Heightened Standards

  • Track record of providing constructive consulting with appropriate issue escalation and offering solutions

  • Strong ability and experience working with and collaborating with leaders and team members at all levels and across functional lines.

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of strategic elements of financial, operational, technical and regulatory environments across a complex global services environment

  • Professional certifications such as CRISC, CITP, CISA, CISSP

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

This role will provide leadership support to ensure that Wells Fargo Technology is accountable for risks associated with technology activities, current and emerging risk identification, measurement, assessment, control, mitigation, monitoring and reporting. This role will work regularly with Wells Fargo Technology teams and Second Line functions to ensure a strong control environment exists for compliance with technology-applicable policies, procedures, and guidelines. The candidate will work directly with Policy Owners, Independent Risk Management, Divisional Operational Risk Management, Technical and ICS Subject Matter Experts and Central Risk Process Owners to manage reviews for new/revised policies applicable to WF Technology. This process will require the candidate to work with these participants to review new/revised policy requirements, work with stakeholders to ensure documentation demonstrates evidence of adherence, to identify potential adherence gaps, and to determine appropriate course of action for implementation/remediation efforts. The review, analysis, and gap remediation processes will require strong analytical skills, and an ability to build relationships necessary to collaborate across the key stakeholder groups to drive decision-making. Responsibilities may include: * Review new/revised policy requirements to understand how they apply to Technology * Partnership with Policy Owners, Independent Risk Management Partners, Divisional ORM teams, Subject Matter Experts and Process Owners to ensure gap analysis are fully executed, including an appropriate level of documentation to evidence adherence to the requirements * Produce preliminary reporting to communicate gaps/findings key participants and leadership for review * Produce final report with agreed gaps and/or adherence status for senior leadership * Partner with Policy Owners, Independent Risk Management Partners, Divisional ORM teams, Subject Matter Experts and Process Owners to determine appropriate course of action for the implementation/remediation of identified gaps * Monitor implementation/remediation efforts through completion * Produce monthly status reporting for managed process steps Required Qualifications * 7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management Desired Qualifications * Ability to coordinate completion of multiple tasks and meet aggressive time frames * Ability to prepare management level presentations * Advanced Microsoft Office skills * Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills * Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy * Ability to interact with all levels of an organization Other Desired Qualifications * 7+ years of experience within an Enterprise Technology function or Technology Risk function with demonstrated knowledge of technology systems, applications, infrastructure and emerging technology and associated risks in a business environment * 7+ years demonstrated leadership skills and strategic ability to execute operational risk management programs * Experience managing information technology oversight programs that align to a Technology Business function (i.e. consumer, commercial, infrastructure, capital markets and or wealth/brokerage etc.) * Experience in compliance, operational risk, IT systems security, business process mgmt. or financial services, (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk) * Broad and significant knowledge of technology and the associated challenges, risks and required controls inherent in a complex federated environment, including knowledge of SDLC, Architecture, Cloud, Datacenter, Vendor and third party, BCP, PMO, Change Mgmt, Problem and Incident Management, SOX and other Regulations (ADA, SWAP Dealer), Access management, Asset Management, Compliance, IS, Audit * Experience performing gap analysis for policies and/or regulatory requirements * Understanding of technology and security risk framework.
