Description
Overview: Proactively grows and deepens relationships with existing business members as well as actively prospects for new credit union targeted business members. This position develops strong professional referral networks to source new opportunities and engages with business community organizations to promote Meritrust's brand. Requirements include visiting prospects and member businesses within defined markets, making outbound calls to prospects and members, and building business relationships through internally sponsored and local events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Meets established business sales goals and service standards by establishing and retaining relationships with existing and new members. Supports credit union Member Service Objectives and business sales promotions by cross-selling services and products to members.
Utilize FastTrack and facilitate small business lending up to $150k.
Proactively prospects potential members for business accounts through personal contacts, referral sources, telephone outreach and community activity outreach.
Partner with Business Lending and Treasury Services for prospecting and lead proposals.
Develop networks for the purpose of knowledge and lead generation.
Open new business accounts and other credit union products with accuracy while ensuring a positive interaction and member experience.
Works to successfully achieve overall business deposit and lending goals, through individual contribution, while promoting teamwork.
Uncover opportunities to refer to other lines of business within the organization.
Cross-train staff as part of sales efforts; may conduct formal training on products and sales techniques.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge and adheres to all credit union procedures regarding member transactions.
Adhere to all aspects of policy and procedure compliance for business deposit accounts.
Provide backup support to Business Banking team.
Travel within branch network required.
Maintain a professional appearance and courteous attitude.
Contribute to efficient credit union operations by performing other related duties as assigned by the Treasury Sales Manager or the Director of Business Banking.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Education:
3-5 years of sales and customer service experience preferred.
Ability to build relationships with others, such as clients, members, and or colleagues.
Must have the physical ability to solicit new business proactively (ex: walking, driving, etc.)
Ability to identify additional opportunities to upsell products and services to members.
Proficient negotiation skills with the goal of influencing a business decision.
Demonstrated ability to manage and track sales process from lead to close.
Possess a desire to serve others and work cohesively with other credit union employees.
Experience working with small businesses in the community.
Understanding and knowledge of bank and or credit union business products and financial services preferred.
Outside sales experience, bank retail business, and/or mortgage experience desired.
High self-motivation, results oriented with little supervision required.
Must display professionalism and possess excellent (verbal and written) business communication skills.
Proficiency with PC, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Postsecondary education preferred.
Must comply with all policies and procedures including the Bank Secrecy Act.
