This position assists counselors and performs services for consumers in Union County. The job is located in the Monroe Office.

The primary functions of this position are to assist counselors in job placement of individuals with disabilities who are transitioning from high school to work, to work collaboratively with counselors and individuals with disabilities to determine appropriate vocational goals, to identify availability of similar positions in the community, and to connect qualified applicants with appropriate employment opportunities. Other duties include: teaching employment marketing skills classes to job-ready consumers; providing written and verbal feedback to counselors regarding the progress of referred consumers' efforts to obtain employment; coordinating in-school work adjustment programs; meeting with local and regional employers to explain agency mission and goals and to assist in meeting their business needs. The selected candidate may also participate in job fairs and other community events to promote the agency and its consumers as well as represent the work unit on boards/committees as designated by the Unit Manager.

Bachelors degree in a human services or business field such as human resources, marketing, business administration, business management, healthcare management, or public administration from an appropriately accredited institution;

OR

Associates degree in a human services or business field (identified above) from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related work experience;

OR

High school or General Educational Development (GED) and four years of directly related work experience;

OR
