Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY: This is a key position on the Employer Relations Team that is responsible for leading the development and implementation of a new market strategy to grow accretive contribution margin by developing and selling direct to employer products based on narrower network/product designs to help employers better control their health plan costs and plan assets. Over time, these products will be available in all nine Service Areas and delivered in partnership with third party administrators ("TPAs") and/or selected Payers.

The primary goal of this program is to establish a new level of relationship/partnership directly with employers, aiming to exceed their expectations and significantly improve the value of the health care they purchase. Products will be developed in partnership with selected, strategic partners (who may vary somewhat by market) and will focus on optimizing the use of Dignity Health facilities and network providers. Products will also require enhanced partnerships with physicians and physician networks, with a particular focus on leveraging the capabilities of newly developed clinical integration networks and existing internal and external partners.

This role will be responsible for leading cross-functional execution and improvement of program operations and key projects/programs within the portfolio of initiatives managed and driven by the Employer Relations Strategy. This role will support the program team as an experienced program manager / business consultant and by developing, executing and standardizing program processes across service areas and partners, leading the development of work plans, timelines and status reporting, facilitating and coordinating data analysis and performance tracking for the program and delivering specific projects as needed. The experienced program manager / business consultant will have responsibility for key aspects of the program and demonstrate the ability to lead/manage project(s).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Executes, improves and standardizes program operations and reporting processes across service areas and partners, including TPAs and clinically integrated networks

  • Manages projects in support of key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring deadlines are met appropriately and align with business unit goals and objectives

  • Manages/influences decision-making processes and interacts with all levels of management

  • Demonstrates advanced understanding of project management methodology

  • Facilitates/leads meetings with key internal/external stakeholders, prepares meeting materials, drives effort to resolve issues/risks and next steps

  • Develops, implements and manages tools and processes, including work plans, risk/issue management, communication plans, quality assurance, training, status reports and executive presentations

  • Develops and leverages analyses to solve business challenges, support status reporting, drive key decision-making and identify opportunities

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in business project/program management, business consulting, payer/TPA operations management, or related roles

  • 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience with payer, TPA or provider, including cross-functional team leadership of business process development, execution and improvement with demonstrated competencies

  • BA/BS or equivalent degree in business or related field or equivalent experience

  • PMP certification and/or Business Consulting experience preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to influence partners and cross-functional teams

  • Excellent collaboration, organizational, customer service and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with ACOs or employer health plan implementations helpful

  • Very detail oriented and organized

  • Advanced to expert knowledge/experience with MS Office PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project

  • Advanced knowledge/experience with MS Excel, Access and/or related analytics and reporting application(s)

  • Travel Requirement: 10% - 20%

Senior Program Manager, Business Applications As Senior Program Manager within IT, you are charged with leading large technology initiatives. Collaborating with business partners to drive the technology components for IT, you will lead all aspects of project information including timelines, budgets, resource allocation and scope definition and management, and provide oversight to a global portfolio of projects.
