Job Description
Job Summary:
The Business Process Engineer acts as a key contributor to timely reporting of financial results for Hannover Re on a Solvency II, IFRS17, and Internal Capital Model reporting basis. This role is designed to drive operational excellence through evaluation and re-engineering of chosen actuarial and accounting processes. The primary objective is to facilitate the reduction of operational risks by facilitating automation of critical workloads to ensure both efficiency and compliance with evolving industry standards.
Essential Functions:
(40%) Process Optimization and Operational Risk Mitigation: Evaluate and re-engineer actuarial and accounting processes, identifying areas for improvement and operational risk mitigation. Ensure seamless integration of these processes with Azure cloud solutions.
(30%) Technical Solutioning and Cloud Migration: Implement the migration of critical actuarial workloads to the Azure platform, ensuring high levels of performance, security, and scalability.
(10%) Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with IT, actuarial, and accounting teams to align technical solutions with business strategies. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members in process optimization.
(10%)Database support: Load semi-annual Solvency II sensitivity model output to the data warehouse per agreed internal deadlines. Prepares extract for loading quarterly Solvency II cash flows from Hannover office reporting system to the data warehouse. Update mapping tables as needed.
(10%) Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest trends in cloud technology and process engineering, integrating solutions into business practices.

Essential knowledge skills and abilities:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years experience working in data analyst role in financial services or related area
Proven ability to read and refactor SQL, R, and Python code.
Intermediate/Advanced MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, and Powerpoint
Advanced database or related skills
Demonstrated experience in process re-engineering and cloud solution implementations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Desired knowledge skills and abilities:
Actuarial certification exams or designations such as Associate of the Society of Actuaries.
Progress towards Microsoft Azure Certifications: Azure Administrator and/or Solutions Architect.
Experience in financial services, insurance, or reinsurance industries.
Experience in managing and coordinating projects.
