The Business Process Improvement Analyst operates as a shared service resource to support the organization in identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities that enable optimal services to be delivered. Being a part of the Business Process Improvement (BPI) team you will work alongside financial professionals and business leaders, gaining opportunities to grow and develop.


  • Create process documentation/workflows

  • Facilitate process workflow modeling in order to collaborate on process improvements, automation capabilities and clearly defined end-to-end use cases

  • Partnering with your automation team to drive improvements to customer experiences across the enterprise.

  • Utilize financial measures and analysis of operational impacts to evaluate the cost and benefits of current processes and identification of potential areas for improvement.

  • Assist with the analysis and preparation of recommendations that will drive greater productivity, reduce waste, or eliminate duplication.

  • Work with operational team members to understand processes, root causes and outcomes. Create metrics and audit processes to ensure established goals are met and process improvements are sustained.

  • Create process documentation/workflows


  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or a related field

  • Knowledge of databases, system security and troubleshooting

  • Technical experience with any robotics platforms would be a plus

  • Applicable work experience in either a consulting, finance / accounting or IT/operations field or the life insurance or annuity industries is a plus

  • Strong analytical ability, statistics background helpful

  • Strong business communication and presentation skills

  • Lean Six Sigma certifications helpful

VIEW JOBS 2/15/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-15T00:00 Overview As a Business Process Analyst, you'll join an IT team responsible for administrating core C Spire process management and ticketing systems including JIRA, ConnectWise, and Confluence. You'll also work with internal teams in understanding process and workflow needs, making core workflow and ticketing system recommendations, and then implementing solutions within the system. The Business Process Analyst is expected to be or become an admin expert in one primary system of JIRA, Confluence, or ConnectWise, but will have cross-system opportunities to backup other respective experts in the other systems within the group. The Business Process Analyst is also responsible for ensuring system vulnerabilities are identified, and administering, maintaining, and patching the team systems. Responsibilities * Document and analyze operational procedures, processes, and problems to identify areas for automation or improved workflow creation in ticketing/workflow platform(s). * Research and respond to issues, availability, and support of end-users with ticketing/workflow platforms, time tracking system(s) and associated plugins. * Install updates and administer ticketing/workflow platform(s) including participation and technical assistance during major upgrades and integration, as well as, attending training as needed to increase subject matter excellence * Create routine and complex workflows including project workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes per user project request. * Review existing workflows to evaluate effectiveness and propose system changes to improve productivity and continually research best practices for system improvement. * Define and report on trackable measurements of success for processes. Deliver reports, recommendations, or alternative for improving these processes. * Setup and maintain tasks, projects, and users in workflow and time tracking system for new and existing projects * Assist in the maintenance of the existing change management processes and development of improved change control processes, practices, and guidelines. * Other duties as defined by management. Qualifications * REQUIRED * Baccalaureate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent desired. * Several years of experience in software analysis and design required. * Working knowledge of system development lifecycle methodologies, object-oriented development concepts, relational database concepts, and SQL expected. * Strong leadership, oral and written communications skills required. * Background must demonstrate the ability to operate effectively within a complex, dynamic environment. * PREFERRED * Intermediate UNIX/Linux administration knowledge and developer experience preferred. * Experience administering and maintaining Atlassian JIRA Server, Confluence, or ConnectWise expected and preferred. * Experience with business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data modelling preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to sit for long periods and use computer keyboard and/or mouse while viewing computer screen. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule shared by other department members.
