Job Introduction

The Business Process Analyst's role is to elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of stakeholders, be their customers or end users. This includes interviewing stakeholders and gathering and compiling user requirements to understand the technology solutions they need. The Business Analyst will also apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help the business make good technology decisions. Business analysts play a central role in aligning the needs to business units with the capabilities delivered by information technology.

The Business Process Analyst will work with the Director of Global Quality to support the deployment, marketing, integration and future use of the tools such as Global Collaboration, HR, Finance, Manufacturing or Engineering based platforms. Responsibilities require ability to acquire an in-depth knowledge of the software, and the ability to relate this understanding to support users by answering questions and increasing the knowledge within the user community.

Major Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with project sponsors to determine project scope and vision.

  • Conduct interviews to collect and analyze the project's business requirements.

  • Collaborate with team to identify and execute a marketing strategy for deployment and integration of new software within Magna Exteriors.

Operational Management

  • Support project team by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; preparing accurate and detailed requirement specifications documents; user interface guides; writing functional specifications.

  • Assist with the interpretation of user requirements into feasible options, and communicating these back to the business stakeholders.

  • Document requirements of project's test plan as it relates to the defined functional requirements.

  • Perform testing according to the test plan. Lead testing activities when multiple stakeholders are needed.

  • Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements verbally or through written documentation to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.

  • Carry forward the needs and priorities of Exteriors to partner software suppliers and developers to ensure that bug fixes and enhancements are being identified and tracked to completion.

  • Manage existing software implementations and user support including troubleshooting and permissions management.

  • Lead train the trainer and user training activities. Support divisional subject matter experts and build the knowledge base within Exteriors on software platforms.

Knowledge and Education

College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, marketing, or information systems. Minimum of 1 year related work experience (including relevant internships).

Work Experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the organization's core business process and operations.

  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.

  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to apply them to systems issues and products as required.

  • Demonstrated project management skills and project management software skills, including planning, organizing, and managing resources.

  • Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.

Work Environment

  • Office environment; up to 20% travel required.

  • While working in production environments, the colleague may be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by the manufacturing process.

  • A normal amount of sitting, standing and walking. Average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer. May require travel.
