The Business Process Analyst position provides the overall support for technology services used by Worldwide Homeland Operations in the support homelands throughout the world. In this capacity, the expectation of the position is to help in the support of existing business processes and systems and when required the identification, analysis, definition, and testing of new and expanded functionality in systems, corrective action(s) to existing processes, and the refinement of systems, processes, and procedures to achieve performance improvements.

The analyst considers processes that span multiple workgroups within major sections of the department with the ability to work between high-level overviews down to detailed work-level tasks and steps, while maintaining an understanding of how the processes, applications systems, hard and soft tools, and people involved contribute to the purpose and objectives of the department.

The purpose of the analysis is to identify or define functionality points within the business model; to assess alternative solutions to enhance and/or correct 'at-risk' functionality; to recommend 'most appropriate' solutions for implementation; and to provide testing and certification of the solution(s).

The Business Process Analyst position is pivotal in providing comprehensive support for technology services utilized by Worldwide Homeland Operations in various homelands globally. The role involves supporting existing business processes and systems, as well as identifying, analyzing, defining, and testing new functionalities, corrective actions, and system refinements to enhance performance. The analyst will work across different workgroups within the department, ranging from high-level overviews to detailed tasks, while ensuring alignment with departmental objectives.

A minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience, or a bachelor's or master's degree with equivalent experience is required. Additionally, a minimum of four years' experience as a systems/business analyst is necessary.

Proficiency in business and systems analysis, process design, and general desktop computing, including database and spreadsheet functionality is expected. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong focus, discipline, responsibility, and performance orientation. Experience in abstract concept reasoning, problem-solving, statistical compilation, and presentation skills is preferred. Experience in Python and/or Java programming languages would be advantageous.

The responsibilities of the Business Process Analyst include:

  • Ensuring that the Engineering systems and Operational processes meet the user community's and division's needs by participating in teams reviewing and/or developing requirements and specifications while maintaining and testing their assigned products.

  • Establishing guidelines for product troubleshooting, problem identification, and solution recommendations; conducting analysis for resolution as need arises; making recommendations to management on procedural changes, product enhancement, consultation to resolve systems.

  • Managing the design and development of product enhancements including the testing and implementation of process solutions; providing product analysis, design, testing, and implementation procedures before the product goes to the user.

  • Managing various special projects and research assigned by division management that requires product database queries and data compilation analysis for all workgroups; interacting with users in other departments to resolve issues unique to their organization.
