Summary

The Business Partner, Facilities role will be responsible for all areas of facility management including, maintenance, cleaning and repair, and other Facility related projects for assigned locations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and other facilities by performing the following duties personally and through direct reports or vendors.

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of all facilities, including cleaning, maintenance, and repair, and ensure they are well-maintained and in accordance with department procedures and standards.

  • Manage any outside vendor/landlord that provides maintenance, repairs, or janitorial services to Company facilities.

  • Respond to employees' concerns, issues, and complaints in a prompt fashion.

  • Manage the maintenance personnel assigned (if required) and ensure development and proper training and safety practices by conducting employee and or vendor training programs.

  • Manage office/department relocations adhering to workspace standards.

  • Lead the inspection process to manage the planning and direction of activities related to the long-term Facility Condition Assessment of all buildings, building equipment, and grounds and the well-being of their occupants, including building improvements, building repair, emergency response, fire protection, etc.

  • Partner with operations leadership to understand and support their needs as it relates to facilities.

  • Collaborate with the other disciplines in Facilities as needed on projects and daily work.

  • Support Corporate Security as needed for security-related matters and coordinate with Safety department emergency evacuation procedures and safety practices in the department.

  • Manage facility projects, preparing a budget, and tracking actuals within the area of responsibility.

  • Manage assigned site(s) within the computerized maintenance management system software and database and ensure accuracy of asset data and appropriate facility records.

  • Participate in the department budget development and actively manage the budget for the locations assigned, including review of the resulting metrics and standard costs.

  • Fulfill on-call responsibilities and emergency calls.

  • Manage small construction projects as assigned by Real Estate and Facilities Director.

  • Provide on-site support to Facilities Planning for large construction projects.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position will supervise Facility Technician(s).

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred in engineering, business, or comparable discipline.
  • IFMA certification preferred and other Facility related certifications
  • HVAC, etc.

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of normal building practices, building codes, local, state, and federal codes as required, and the ability to read construction documents preferred.

  • Proven track record of the project and supervisory skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, analyze, draw conclusions, and present recommendations.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal customers and external contractors.

  • Minimum five years of facility maintenance experience.

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Normal Work Environment
  • Work is normally performed in a shared office or field environment.
  • Travel required within the geographic area of responsibility.

  • Normal working hours Monday

  • Friday.
