Position Summary:

As a Business Operations Specialist, you will focus on the continuous improvement of business processes leading to increased efficiency in all areas of Ryan Specialty. Working with production teams as well as back-office teams, such as Surplus Lines Tax, Premium Accounting, Quality Control, RSUM & Central Processing, you will be responsible for analyzing data, identifying gaps, tracking/trending issues, and communicating root causes to improve processes. This role is also responsible for project coordination from idea conception to completion.

Essential Functions:

  • Leading or adhering to a structured methodology for change management activities as they relate to process, systems, reporting, innovation, and M & A activity.

  • Building or maintaining strong relationships with BSS stakeholders to support adoption, or information sharing of changes required by a project or initiative.

  • Enabling the design, development, delivery, and management of key communications

  • Having basic knowledge of the main processes within Business Shared Services and having the ability to gauge the overall "health" of processes as it pertains to quality, efficiency, adherence, and risk management.

  • Support change management at the organizational level through bulletins and SharePoint

  • Using data and/or process review to be able to identify gaps in productivity, cost, efficiency.

  • Having the written and oral abilities to present ROI statements for BSS change requests, including scope, severity, level of effort.

  • Working with PMO to Integrate change management activities into various project plans

  • Has the ability to learn multiple systems to be able to coordinate changes and/or create recommendations with various stakeholders

  • Understands how to obtain source data, and in some cases can run queries.

  • Creating Executive level summaries for engagement of senior leadership where necessary

  • Creating stories in JIRA, track notes and plans in confluence and manages cards in Trello board

  • Works as a liaison with strategic solutions team to understand trending business issues and work cross-functionally and collaboratively to achieve resolutions.

  • Analyze data to identify and communicate improvement opportunities in current and future processes, with a focus on scalability.

  • Can function as a stakeholder relative to changes during prioritization backlog meetings as needed.

  • Can Create and maintain SOP's related to new projects or processes.

  • Conduct process reviews to determine opportunities for continued enhancement.

  • Project-related activities as required, including project coordination, requirements gathering, and user acceptance testing,

  • Projects and assignments can often include Surplus Line Tax, Premium Accounting, RT/RSUM, SOX/ Quality Control & Central Processing, and Compliance process improvements.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree plus two years' relevant work experience

  • Interested in new insights, improvements, and problem-solving.

  • Effectively manages multiple priorities and meets deadlines autonomously.

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and analytical.

  • Able to comprehend and analyze data.

  • Dependable and autonomous

  • Strong communicator, both verbal and written

  • Thrives in a fast-paced organization.

  • Competent in MS Office; Excel proficiency preferred.

  • Insurance experience is a plus

  • System(s) experience in AIM, ImageRight, Concept One, IMS is a plus

  • Experience in project management tools such as Trello, Confluence & JIRA preferred

  • Willingness for occasional business travel required

The target salary range for this position is $65,000 - $110,000 annually. The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
