Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus. As a Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it's your job to keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress and deadlines.

As a Business Operations Program Manager for the Global Data Center team, you are a data driven problem solver who can drive strategy and operations and develop data center infrastructure recommendations. You are a thought partner to senior leaders to effectively deliver innovative and actionable solutions for complex business and organization issues. You're a well-rounded with the ability to "crunch the numbers" one minute and critically think through strategic issues the next. Lastly, you are a self starter with a high degree of rigor, organization, and discipline to get things done.

Minimum qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in a quantitative discipline (Finance, Economics, Statistics, Science, or Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of relevant work experience and/or experience in a Management Consulting role.

  • Experience in creating strategy roadmaps, assessing ROI, forecasting and conducting quarterly business reviews.

  • Experience with global business operations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or graduate degree in a management field with emphasis on business operations and strategy

  • 7 years of relevant work experience in management consulting focused on large scale complex operational and strategic initiatives.

  • Data Center industry experience and experience in areas such as supplier management, project management, global operations, and/or cost controls in industry.

  • Provide strategic, analytical support for all business intelligence activities for Google's data centers/hosting business. Interact cross-functionally with a variety of people/teams.

  • Structure/execute operational and strategic initiatives by developing work plans, gathering/synthesizing relevant data, leading analyses and developing recommendations.

  • Work with engineering/operations colleagues to help shape/drive the tactical/strategic development of Google's data center hosting business. Leverage business acumen and industry knowledge to develop/deliver competitive intelligence and business analytics.

  • Manage initiatives and drive programs both regularly and on an ad hoc basis to maximize hosting operating efficiencies. Program manage operational reviews, organization level communications and strategy summits to drive execution against/impact from the organization's strategy.

  • Perform business analytics and decision support models. Communicate results, methods, and findings to leadership and influence leads to take action on these findings.

As a Data Center Operations Global Readiness Program Manager, you will be deeply involved in nearly every aspect of both the tactical and strategic training readiness of our global fleet of data centers. You will partner with our local and regional facility managers and plant engineers, as well as Data Center Operations key stakeholders, to develop creative and scalable training solutions. Preferred qualifications: * Experience managing complex, global training projects. * Experience communicating with all levels of the organization, with the ability to tailor format and style for in person, emails, documents, and presentations. * Ability to optimize training processes for efficiencies, while balancing the immediate needs of the project with the longer term goals of the greater organization. * Excellent data analysis and problem solving skills. * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with multiple audiences and levels, both internally and externally. * Manage complex Data Center Operations training programs (e.g., Data Center Training Readiness and Standardization, Data Center Drills), identify and implement process improvements for the global fleet of data centers, and exercise business and technical understanding to drive the organization's long-term training objectives. * Collaborate cross-functionally to develop, implement, and operationalize innovative Data Center Operations training solutions. * Initiate, prioritize, and execute DCOps training projects and processes with key internal/external stakeholders while influencing across teams. * Establish and maintain training readiness, performance metrics to drive continuous program and process improvements.
