Job Summary:

Coordinates strategies and operations for Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI) at Hartford Hospital in alignment with Hartford HealthCare's mission, vision and values. Serve as a key member of the CESI leadership team with the primary focus of ensuring the efficiency of financial and business operations as well as setting strategic goals for the future. The manager works closely with the CESI Director Operations, and Executive CESI Director to support functions of operations, finance, Execution of Master Service Agreements, and serves as a resource for each of the CESI Business Units to ensure each Business works in operating for peak performance. Ensures the Center is running well, with smooth efficient services that meet the expectations and needs of internal and external customers and clients. Assist with strategic planning and financial growth of CESI and serves as lead to organize CESI Business Unit Reports.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships and serves as key liaison with senior leaders of industry partners, vendors and suppliers to promote utilization of CESI in aspects of Pre-Clinical Lab, Simulation, EMS and tissue lab. Oversees the communications, planning, implementation and monitoring of initiatives that contribute to the financial growth of CESI.

  • Coordinates business development opportunities to promote CESI's growth in training, research and product development including oversight over new contract development.

  • Responsible for CESI department budget (currently 1.7 million dollars).

  • Monitor financial data/statements and use them to improve profitability.

  • Develop and monitor operational dashboards and key performance indicators. Design and implement business plans and strategies to promote the attainment of goals.

  • Collaborate with and lead teams across CESI to organize and coordinate operations in ways that will ensure maximum productivity and quality of services provided.

  • Implement and manage operational plans.

  • Provides oversight and development of staff within the Pre-Clinical and Bio Lab areas of CESI

  • Liaison with top management to assist in development of strategic plans for operational activity

  • Collaborate with Hartford HealthCare legal department to ensure all MSA and SOW to ensure the CESI programs meets the customer needs. #HHC

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, marketing or Healthcare Administration required. Master's degree in Finance or Healthcare Administration preferred

  • Five (5) years' financial work experiences finance, marketing or healthcare administration in a healthcare environment with work experiences which provided developed knowledge of:

  • Fundamentals, theories, techniques and practices of strategic planning and business development

  • Data interpretation and managing demographic, market forces, clinical and financial information and statistics.

  • Healthcare provider operations, industry trends and their effects on organizations and physicians.

  • Current trends in healthcare that would affect longer term strategies

  • Finance, budgeting and maximizing resources

Job Summary: * The CESI Business Development Executive (BDE) position is a new opportunity for a highly motivated sales professional. The BDE will be responsible for selling principally CESI's bio-skill laboratory, simulation based medical education and related services to medical device, and pharmaceutical corporations located principally in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. * As a part of the mandate, the BDE will also engage in brand awareness and development in agreed upon markets as well as ongoing individual client relationship management. Because CESI seeks to have longer term relationships with its clients, CESI strongly prefers a BDE who pursues a consultative vs. transactional selling model in developing new clients and managing relationships. * As the BDE generates and qualified leads, the BDE will partner with CESI's bio-skills laboratory, medical education service managers, and other CESI colleagues in managing the prospective client during the collaborative solution development process through to the close of the sale. The BDE will also liaise closely with CESI professionals in producing proposals and contracts. * The BDE will also operate within and broadly represent the standards and values of HHC as the mandate is pursued. CESI seeks growth in revenue, margin, and numbers and types of clients. CESI's goal is for the BDE to produce consistent and sustained levels of lead generation activities and closed clients to keep the utilization of CESI resources at high levels while maintaining Hartford HealthCare's (HHC) ethical standards and leadership behaviors. This position will report directly to CESI's Director of Operations with strategic direction from CESI's senior management team. Job Responsibilities: * Learn and understand all the prospects, the available opportunities within, and relevant dynamics within the assigned territory. * Develop state/regional business intelligence on relevant trends and market influencers like regulators * Raise brand awareness of CESI's services and value proposition for covered medical device and pharmaceutical companies by distributing marketing collateral, conducting email marketing campaigns, attending conferences, making individual sales calls, and otherwise developing CESI's brand within the territory. * Generate and qualify leads from clients new to CESI - a target number per time interval to be agreed. * Achieve revenue, prospect and client growth targets for dedicated service lines - such targets to be agreed * Partner with CESI service managers and colleagues in managing sales pipeline to convert qualified leads to closed clients. * Manage client relationships in collaboration with CESI service managers. * Seek to re-sell and up-sell current clients/divisions, and to grow existing relationships by further developing leads in other divisions * Work with CESI resources in developing marketing plans for CESI's bio-skills laboratory and medical education services. * Cross-selling – Provide information to prospects on HHC and relevant services, as appropriate. * Perform other related duties as required * Bachelor's Degree required. * 3 years sales experience in the medical device and pharmaceutical fields preferred * Strong communication and organizational skills with ability to influence others and maintain a strong focus on achieving results. * Be an effective multi-tasker and project manager. * Develops and maintains effective relationships with key stakeholders and constituents * Exhibits leadership and coaching skills, motivates CESI team members, and shows appreciation for CESI's team's efforts * Conducts himself / herself according to HHC values: Caring, Excellence, Safety and Integrity * Consistently exhibits HHC H3W Leadership Behaviors * Become and stay well-respected within CESI and HHC and maintains a positive attitude * Be a Team player within CESI in addition to the broader HHC, as applicable * Able to manage the mandate and its goals, and be accountable to timelines and targets. * Proponent for change and demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset * Approach problems constructively by focusing on how to move the project forward * Explores and analyzes alternatives.
