The Business Operation manager leads the team that enables productivity of wireless software engineers worldwide. The team provides financial planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and accrual support to engineer, along with space planning, lab planning, space construction oversight, seating capacity, and headcount planning. They equip and sustain WTE through purchasing support and inventory services including capital audits. We ensure our engineers have everything they need to build the best wireless software solutions on the planet! We minimize waste, both financial and environmental. We help and guide our engineers cross-functionally by facilitating relationships with Finance, Procurement, Legal, RE&D, SRM, and other business operations groups.

Key Qualifications

  • Leadership: 3 plus years of experience managing, and leading a team.

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Prepare leadership with data to secure, manage, and optimize yearly budgets to meet project milestones. Collect and organize leadership input to create yearly budgets. Oversee WTE's adherence to Apple financial policy.

  • Space Planning and Oversight: Secure and build space to meet the demands of budgeted headcount and project development requirements. Collect and report leadership inputs to create headcount and lab space long range planning for SWE OPS and RE&D. Oversee the construction of new space to make sure it meets engineering requirements.

  • Cross Organizational Partnership: Partner with Finance, Procurement, Legal, RE&D, SRM, admins and other business operations groups to deliver the team charter.

  • Operational Excellence: Run an operationally efficient team that provides a high level of service to engineering. Continuously set the standard on processes, tools, and team performance. Manage team projects; schedule, assign, and coordinate tasks to accomplish team goals and deliverables. Deliver flawlessly to commitments. Provide executive level staff strategic input on how to best run business operations. See around corners to keep the team ahead of changing environments.

  • Purchasing: Own all CAPEX, OPEX, and AOU purchasing for WTE. Partner with admins to deliver services worldwide.

  • Inventory Management: Receive, tag, input into Enfold, and audit capital assets.

  • Tools: Own and/or influence tools to support the mission of the team. Wrike request forms, space management, and task management. Enfold inventory administration, audit, and data input. Finance tools such as Balance and SAP. Influence tools partners to meet the needs of WTE.

  • WTE Websites: Oversee the creation and ongoing content creation for WTE Confluence space. Including organization website, purchasing website, space website, and leadership website with Tableau dashboards

Description

TEAM LEADERSHIP - Hire, lead, and mentor operational roles.

  • Build and maintain a strong and vibrant team.

  • Champion employee growth and job satisfaction.

PROJECT AND OPERATION MANAGEMENT INNOVATION AND LEADERSHIP - Project manager experience or certification such as PMP or Agile project management

  • Track record of leading team both operationally and through projects.

  • Innovative thinker to improve process and work through roadblocks.

OPERATIONAL FINANCE EXPERTISE - Experienced in business operations (FP&A, space planning, budgeting, etc).

  • Extensive knowledge of Apple finance policy.

  • Understanding of US GAP and Sarbanes Oxley laws.

  • Deep understanding of purchasing standards and rules.

  • Ninja experience with excel and numbers.

EXECUTIVE LEVEL COMMUNICATION - Create informative and concise emails, documents, and presentations for executive level presentations.

  • Have productive critical discussions with senior leaders.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP - Collaborate with our partners to create relationships that benefit WTE, keep WTE aligned with business processes, and drive cross-functional collaboration.

Education & Experience

Bachelors in Business/Finance preferred.

Pay & Benefits

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $141,200.00 and $264,100.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
