The Business Operations Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of the organization's finance, accounting, and procurement systems. The Business Operations Manager is responsible for mentoring and developing the finance, accounting, and procurement team; managing work allocation, identifying training and development opportunities, and establishing appropriate performance metrics that align with organizational goals, and working directly with the government client on forecasting/invoicing. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Direct management of the Finance, Accounting, and Procurement team, providing leadership, operational, performance management, and overall direction.
Contract performance, functionality and reliability of all finance, accounting, and procurement process, procedure, and related systems.
Control Financial/Program Control responsibilities in support of programs in areas of budgeting/reporting, sales, indirect rates, cash and DSO, and strong proposal pricing and long-range planning.
Project accounting, AR/AP processing, pricing, and project controls.
Responsible for Program Revenue Recognition and Project Estimates at Completion (EAC) in accordance with policy and GAAP.
Timely response to government customers
Recommends, implements, and leverages approved tools and systems that provide critical financial and operational information to the operations team and client; responsible for the cash flow forecast.
Assists the Program Manager (PM) in developing Long Range Plan/Budget; supports the Program Pricing Strategy.
Supports team members in developing effective problem-solving mechanisms.
Ensure compliance with all site's environmental health and safety requirements.
Ensure responsiveness to Program, Customer, and Corporate Needs.
Any other reasonable duties as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting Field
5 years' experience in US Government defense contracting
Experience representing the Company to customers
Requires strong knowledge of budgets, estimates at complete and projections.
Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts and propose solutions is required.
Must have the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.
Requires knowledge of principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership, service delivery methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer services is required. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities, schedules and budgets.
Requires excellent communication skills, organizational skills, time management skills, and the ability to multi-task.
Expert computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Project and PowerPoint is required.
Preferred Quals:
Master's degree in Finance and Accounting
10 years' experience in US Government defense contracting
High Excel proficiency
The salary range for this position is $115K to $200K (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
