The Business Operations Analyst Role is responsible for managing several programs that are critical to the success of Direct Sales, the National Sales Partner, and National Accounts Sales Channels, Customer Retention, and DISH Movers. This represents 75% of customer acquisition at DISH, as well retention and movers. This is a role with great responsibility and a huge opportunity for growth.

The Analyst will be responsible for ad hoc and recurring report creation and analysis for the channels named above. This duty will include partnering with internal teams that maintain our operational sales data and use standard reporting tools (Tableau, Excel, SQL) to access and compile data.

The ideal individual for this role can think critically, learn quickly, and be able to combine data analytics with business acumen.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read, analyze, and interpret common metrics used to measure and monitor operational performance, define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and provide clear and concise communication with a wide audience of internal departments

  • Prepare, produce, and validate daily, weekly, and monthly reports specifically to measure, monitor, and alert the business in cases of unforeseen spikes, dips, trend changes

  • Creation of formal and informal communications to all levels of a Fortune 200 Sales Department

  • Identifying opportunities for improving existing business processes and implementation of change

  • Perform special projects, research, analysis, and presentations at the request of senior Dish Network leadership

  • Ability to partner with multliple business units to provide a deep technical understanding of the data that drives performance

Skills - Experience and Requirements

  • Locate and weave together data sources, validate the accuracy of the data, and build reporting for all levels of management within sales and retention.

  • Design and implement reporting alerts to monitor for unforeseen spikes, dips, or trend changes in key business metrics

  • Analyze and interpret trends in metrics to make recommendations for business improvement

  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and provide clear and concise communication with a wide audience of internal departments

  • Collaborate with multiple business units to provide a deep technical understanding of the data that drives performance

  • Perform special projects, research, analysis, and presentations at the request of senior DISH leadership

  • Manage a heavily-utilized Tableau Server site

  • BA/BS in a business or STEM field (information systems, math, finance, accounting) or comparable experience

  • Proven initiative; motivated self-starter with 'can-do attitude

  • Tableau and SQL skills preferred; Python and/or R experience a plus

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills; familiar with relational database concepts

  • Attention to detail

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills

Job Duties and Responsibilities The Business Operations Analyst is responsible for helping to develop and support DISH's sales and product efforts within the targeted vertical market. Individuals in this role will maintain comprehensive knowledge of the targeted vertical markets, including competitive landscape, market trends and opportunities, and product/service needs. Utilizing this knowledge they will assist in developing and implementing strategic plans to maximize revenue, channel growth and market share. Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories: * Maintain comprehensive understanding of competitive pricing and product offerings in key markets including: * Competitor deep-dives with cross-functional teams (portfolio, SWOT, capabilities, strategic priorities, and implications for DISH) * Regular reviews of events/results (e.g. financial reports, investor presentations, organizational charts) * Ongoing analysis of existing and emerging market competitors to current and developing service and technology solutions. * Create and present regular summaries to share insights and position DISH's competitive differences to Senior Management, Sales, Product and Business Development teams. * Serve as a focal point within the company for competitive requests in support of sales opportunities, such as specialized competitive materials, demand generation campaigns and product marketing initiatives. * Coordinate closely with Sales and Marketing to ensure consistent understanding, and communication, of competitive advantages. * Utilize competitive intelligence and other internal/external resources to propose strategies to improve acquisition, retention and monetization of customers in target markets. * Maintain understanding of competitive programs from Indirect Channel Partners to ensure DISH is positioned as a preferred choice for prospective sellers.
