Swedish Medical Group is looking for a Business Office Manager to work in Central Business Services at Swedish Bank of America Bldg in Seattle, WA.

The Business Office Manager over Customer Service and Financial Services is responsible for the daily operations and management of the two aforementioned teams and processes. This position is responsible for developing and implementing appropriate business office practices and monitoring effectiveness to ensure compliance with the organizations focus on customer and patient satisfaction as it relates to billing practices and timely account resolution.

In this position you will:

  • Function as an effective manager in relationship with other department managers and staff; ensure positive interface with patients, third party payers and related personnel.

  • Demonstrate competency with all position related software programs including but not limited to Epic.

  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding departmental services and resolve problems or complaints in a timely manner. Ensure positive resolution of patient issues, initiating policy changes when appropriate.

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to staff and supervisors, provide direction to business office staff which may include Financial Counselors, Customer Service, Financial Services, Coding, Insurance follow-up, Payment Posting and/or Refund teams.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or other closely related field

  • 3-5 years progressively more responsible related work and personnel management experience in the health care industry

  • Proven in-depth understanding of the medical revenue cycle, electronic billing, claims collection and account maintenance systems, healthcare finance and accounting procedures, ICD-9/CPT coding, medical terminology and knowledge of payor requirements

  • Knowledge of business service systems, as well as ability to operate complex computer business applications

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's degree in accounting, business administration or other closely related field

  • Experience with EPIC
