Job Overview

As Business Office Manager, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. This position is responsible for managing all functions of the business office, including billing, collections, resident trust, payroll and accounts payable. The BOM position supervises the Business Office staff, including the Receptionist, the Business Office Coordinator, the Assistant BOM (if applicable) and any other staff in the care center business office. This positions works closely with the Regional Directors of Business Office Services and the Central Billing Office.


  • Oversees all aspects of the business office, including supervision of the billing, collecting, resident trust accounting, payroll and accounts payable functions.

  • Organizes, evaluates, and monitors business office operations and assigned personnel in accordance with established standards of practice.

  • Ensures integrity and confidentiality of all resident financial data.

  • Oversees month end close activities related to charge capturing and submission of all billing statements and invoices to payers. Ensures that all center standards of practice relating to billing are adhered to.

  • Ensures that billing is accurate and cash expectations are met.

  • Interacts with payers to define billing requirements and ensures prompt payment of claims.Oversees all census activities including daily, weekly, and monthly balancing with nursing and admission departments.

  • Produces reports for analysis purposes as needed.


  • Two years minimum in a Long Term settings

  • Must be familiar with federal and state guidelines

  • Experience Medicare, Medicaid and Managed Care

  • Experience Medicaid pending process

  • Managerial experience
