  • one year skilled nursing facility business office experience, preferred;
  • knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance billing/collection procedures;

Schedules appointments for providers according to their scheduling guidelines and schedule template. Verifies acceptance of patient insurance plan before scheduling appointment. Enters all registration information accurately and in a timely manner into the practice management system. # Reception/Patient Registration Courteously receives patients into the practice and ensures patients are processed expeditiously. Keeps patients informed of estimated wait times. Communicates with the clinical staff regarding the patient#s wait times. Collects necessary registration information including patient registration forms, copy of insurance card and patient identification card upon registration. Verifies completeness of patient registration information before chart is routed to the clinical staff. Actively addresses upcoming appointments in the patient registration work queue to assure that registration is as complete and accurate prior to the patient#s arrival. Requests and collects the appropriate co-pays, deductibles, etc., at the time of registration following the established RCMG Practice Financial Policy. Maintains overall appearance of waiting room. Discharging patients; collecting balance due from patient (current or outstanding balance as appropriate; scheduling follow-up appointments, enters recalls into the practice management system as needed for follow-up reminders. Verifies the appropriate insurance authorizations have been obtained and are valid for a patient#s upcoming visit as dictated by the patient#s insurance plan. Links referrals to upcoming appointments in the practice management system. # Miscellaneous Clerical Duties Exchanges and provides any needed information with business office. Makes appointment reminder calls, if applicable, to patients following HIPAA privacy guidelines. Balances individual cash drawer at the end of the business day according to established practice guidelines. Maintains necessary logs as identified by operations manager. Assists in obtaining insurance authorizations to fit the needs of the practice Assists in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Attends required customer service training and meetings as requested. Works with all staff of our facilities, physicians, patients, insures, as well as outside vendors. Reports and takes direction from the Team Lead.
