The community you'll be caring for: AdventHealth Sports Medicine & Rehab patients
The role you'll contribute:
When you join our team of over 40 Outpatient Clinics across Central Florida, you will be part of a winning team of experts dedicated to whole-person care to help our patients heal, strengthen and renew. We serve patientsin the Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Polk, Volusia, Flagler and Lake Counties with a dedicated Team of therapists, cliniciansand staffwilling to carry on AdventHealth's mission in the communities we serve.
Under general direction, plans, develops, organizes and manages all outpatient Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Business Office staff. Acts as liaison between Rehabilitation and clinical and administrative partners within the hospital setting, ensuring open communication and collaboration toward common goals. Focuses on process-improvement strategies with special focus on productivity standards, accurate and timely billing and up-front cash collections. Accountable for patient satisfaction and employee engagement scores.
The value you'll bring to the team:
Plans, develops, organizes, and manages all patient business representatives and scheduling department located at multiple sites. Identifies problems proactively for an expedited resolution. Creates synergies, maintains communication, and acts as a liaison between the department and all other clinical and administrative partners in the hospital, ensuring prompt response/resolution to complaints, questions and concerns
Focuses on process improvement strategies with special focus on productivity standards, accurate and timely billing, up-front cash collections and patient satisfaction. Reviews all collections reports available; communicates outcomes to team and leadership timely.
Interviews applicants for open positions at all facilities. Process paperwork for new hires following departmental guidelines. Ensures on-the-job training program is successful at each facility. Provides encouragement to staff to promote positive growth in department. Systematically provides staff with feedback regarding their performance, counsels staff as needed, documents counseling sessions and monitors compliance. Completes staff performance appraisals within established timeframes
Accountable for patient satisfaction and employee engagement scores, meeting goals set by Hospital and Outpatient Rehab Department. Promotes an atmosphere of open communication for staff, clinical partners and customers (patients, guests, families, physicians and vendors) at all times, interacting in a professional manner in all procedures, service recovery initiatives, and general patient or departmental complaints. Maintains staff morale during times requiring heavy workload.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business or Health Administration or other related medical or business field OR Equivalent healthcare experience
Two years experience in healthcare, outpatient rehab, pre-access, patient access, admissions or hospital business office, or physician practice office.
One year experience working as a supervisor or team lead in a customer service environment with experience in rapidly shifting procedures and processes
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree in Business (MBA) or Healthcare Administration (MHA)
Three years' experience in supervisory/leadership in a healthcare setting
Experience managing a team of 5 people
