Looking for a great opportunity? We seek candidates with five (5) or more years of experience working as the manager of a hospital business office for the role of Business Office Director. In this role you will organize and conduct business offices operations in accordance with facility standards. You will implement procedures for filing reimbursement claims and follow up. You will maintain proper documentation with regard to cash receipts, revenue, census, bad debt, and contractual and administrative adjustments. You will negotiate contracts with potential funding sources as requested. You will verify financial coverage of all patients after admission and coordinate initial financial contract if not done at the time of admission. You will prepare and distribute all reports as required by facility and corporate policy.
Candidates must have a Bachelors degree in business or finance preferred. Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience in accounts receivable and business office functions, including experience with insurance companies and a working knowledge of insurance terms, rates, policies and reimbursement procedures. Our ideal candidate will have five (5) years of experienceworking as the manager of a hospital business office,managing staff who are collectors, billers and financial counselors, and managing the accounts receivable department. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly deadlines. Must have outstanding oral and written communication skills.

Job Description

 

The Business Office Director is responsible to take the lead and supervise the day to day operations involving third party/ patient collections follow-up and payment/adjustment batching & posting for this expanding psychiatric  hospital (24 beds to 72 beds) as well as multiple out patient and PHP programs.. This is a full time position that will provide leadership in the daily operations necessary for a successful  Business Office specializing in behavioral healthcare servicing multiple profit centers.

Job Duties:

·         Perform billing and collections for multiple centers for all payors.

·         Participates in hiring, supervision and evaluation of assigned staff.

·         Provides professional and technical support to staff. Responds to requests from insurance carriers, family members and patients regarding account balance issues.

·         Identifies training needs for staff. Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of training, orientation and education programs.

·         Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with standards, laws, regulations and procedures. Recommends new and /or revised policies and procedures as needed.

·         Assigning tasks to staff through billing software as needed.

·         Act as administrator for payer website/log in access.

·         Assists in the Provider Enrollment, Re-enrollment, and Credentialing process.

·         Assists with A/R Month End close process.

·         Minimal travel to facilities to assist with training or operational issues.

Requirements

·         Two year degree or equivalent experience

·         Working knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid guidelines and Institutional (UB04) Billing Requirements

·         Advanced Knowledge of UB04 forms, HCFA 1500 forms, CPT-4 and ICD9CM coding

·         Two years of experience in Provider Enrollment/Credentialing with Medicare, CAQH, and other major insurance carriers

·         At least three to five years of computerized medical billing experience, with a minimum of one year experience in behavioral healthcare

·         Three to Five years of supervision/management experience in healthcare setting

·         Effective oral communication with co-workers, management and physicians

·         Excellent customer service skills
