Job Description: Overview

Tower Health and Acadia Healthcare have formed a joint venture, Tower Behavioral Health (TBH) in Reading, PA. The beautiful 83- acre campus is comprised of a state-of-the-art 144- bed inpatient facility, with multiple levels of outpatient services, and future plans to open a 68- bed Residential Treatment Center.

Berks County offers excellent schools, colleges, parks, and a multitude of cultural, recreational, shopping and sporting attractions are in the vicinity. You will enjoy country living with easy accessibility to shore points, two airports and major metro areas, such as Philadelphia, Washington DC and New York City.

Responsibilities

The Business Office Director will report to the Facility CFO and be responsible for managing all aspects of billing and collecting patient accounts. This position provides direction to business office staff including Financial Counseling, Billing, Collections and Data Entry. Works closely with CFO to achieve facility goals for AR days and Collections.

  • Monitors and reports on key metrics such as cash collections, days outstanding, unbilled, denials, etc., in conjunction with the CFO.

  • Establishes and maintains controls for all cash collected and posted in the Patient Accounting system.

  • Maintains effective communication with third-party insurance carriers to resolve issues that impede cash flow and detract from patient/member satisfaction.

  • Maintains effective communication with the leadership team to ensure that all third-party compliance guidelines are met.

  • Selects and monitors outside collection vendors engaged in the collection of facility receivables. Reviews and balances agency reports to facility; system reports and approves agency invoices.

  • Leads and provides operational directives for all Business office activities related to the claims management and collections of the facility's receivables and ensures timely, efficient cash collections to support the overall financial goals of the facility.

  • Define and provide the necessary support and leadership to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

  • Reviews all statistical reports to monitor trends and determine operational deficiencies, and implements corrective action plans as necessary.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Five (5) or more years' job-related professional experience

  • Three (3) or more years' supervisory experience

  • Strong revenue cycle technical skills

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administrator or related field

  • Behavioral/mental health industry experience

  • EPIC Electronic Medical Record system experience
