Safety Harbor Surgery Center is immediately hiring a Business Office Clerical Assistant for a Monday-Friday day schedule!

Safety Harbor Surgery Center is a busy, multispecialty ambulatory surgery center in Clearwater, Florida that performs over 5,000 surgeries per year. Specialty areas include General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic Surgery, Pain Management, and Urology. We are currently looking to add a Business Office Clerical Assistant to add to our team. Under the direction of the Business Office Manager, is responsible for covering any aspect of the business office necessary. Many duties includes chart building, filing, medical records, medical record scanning and other clerical duties. The successful candidate will possess outstanding multi tasking abilities, communication and teamwork as well as the ability to keep up in a fast paced working environment. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate previous successful/positive customer service encounters or programs.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way.

  • Ability to use time wisely in preparing work area to meet high-paced demand.

  • Show a genuine desire to work and improve the hospital as a whole.

  • Extreme multi-tasker

  • Strong medical terminology.

  • Must demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills.

Patients appreciate being able to recover in the comfort of their own home surrounded by family and friends.</p><p>Job Summary</p><p>The Surgical Scrub Technologist anticipates the needs of the surgical team. Establishes and maintains sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room. Reporting Relationship: Reports to Clinical Director/Administrator</p><p>Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>Ensures sterility of all supplies and instruments during set up of surgical procedures.</p></li><li><p>Assists circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining sterile environment.</p></li><li><p>Assists circulating nurse in gathering necessary surgical supplies and equipment.</p></li><li><p>Is responsible for doing sponge, needle, and instrument count pre-operatively and intra-operative with the circulating nurse.</p></li><li><p>Gowns and gloves surgeons and assistants.</p></li><li><p>Assists in keeping physician preference cards accurate/updated.</p></li><li><p>Retains all specimens to be sent to pathology, confirming source/name of specimen with surgeon.</p></li><li><p>Transports all surgical equipment to appropriate cleaning areas. Assists in sterile supply with cleaning and reprocessing of instrument sets.</p></li><li><p>Interacts appropriately and effectively with all patients/others regardless of age or ethnic background.</p></li><li><p>Uses Standard Universal Precautions, appropriate hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment.</p></li><li><p>Assists with environmental hazard and infection control surveillance and participates in emergency preparedness drills.</p></li><li><p>Follows all equipment and safety guidelines and is responsible for knowledgeable use and care of equipment.</p></li><li><p>Serves as a resource to other members of the health care team.</p></li><li><p>Attends inservices, conferences, and meetings as required.</p></li><li><p>Communicates effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians, and their office staffs, patients, and employees.
