POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Objects Administrator uses in-depth knowledge and experience to oversee the writing and modifying of complex software application programs. This position will create detailed specifications or designs, conduct quality assurance reviews of peer's application programming, and act as a resource for team members with less experience. The Business Objects Administrator will code, test, debug, document and maintain software application programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Partner with a multiple vendors to create estimates and delivery plans for projects at a capability level.

  • Ensure quality of technology delivery of multiple vendors' technology solutions for multiple concurrent projects at capability level.

  • Provide technology leadership and delivery accountability for solutions for multiple concurrent projects within an application family. (i.e. Claims, C&PS, or CS&DW)

  • Function as team leader with accountability: Setting direction to mature the technology associated with the team. Key aspect of this is "tech debt" removal when possible.

  • Identify and implement process enhancement opportunities associated with supporting the application area.

  • Recommend actions to increase ESI and vendor partner knowledge on team.

  • Serve as SME for components of the team.

  • Support activities of senior team members and architects to set direction for new technology components in the ESI environment.

  • Provide technical guidance to projects for components of a technology suites.

  • Lead efforts to develop standard practices, components, guidelines for use of complex technology components.

  • Participate in resolving urgent and high production incidents.

  • Participate in action to determine root cause of problems and drive resolution.

  • Work on special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-8 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree; 3-5 years of experience with Master's degree; 11-14years of experience without Bachelor's degree.

  • Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field

  • Ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems; Solutions are innovative, thorough, practical and consistent with organizational objectives.

  • Strong customer service focus.

  • Ability to lead discussions with all levels of the organization and provide balanced information of an idea or communication of an issue regardless of written or verbal.

  • Familiarity with health care or PBM industry.

  • Familiar with working in a vendor partner model.

  • Ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines.

  • Strong mentoring skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work load and meet project deadlines.

  • Adaptability and willingness to lean new tools and applications.

  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions.

  • Demonstrated team collaboration experiences

  • Expertise in Administration of Business Objects Business Intelligence Platform 4.2

  • BO Servers Upgrade from lower versions to latest version BI 4.2.

  • Understand the flow of Network Architect such as F5, Firewall, VIP.

  • Server patch management where new patches and service packs needed to apply to fix bugs following Change Management process

  • Also require to monitor/Handle BO services during windows servers' maintenance.

  • Regular BO repository Maintenance like Cleaning Orphaned Connection/Universe/Documents.

  • Configure/Optimize Servers settings. Apply trace logs on servers in case of troubleshooting complex incidents.

  • Start /Stop, Enable/Disable, Clone, Add, remove BO Services on requirement. Also require to fix tomcat Apache/Tomcat issues.

  • Migration of reports / universes/ users along with security settings from one dev/stage to Prod Environment using Promotion Management tool following Change Management Process.

  • Creating new project setup with security for new application:

  • Design and implement security by creating of user groups, granting access to BOE applications to users and adding security restrictions (application level, folder level and object level) based on user profile and user groups.

  • Report bursting , Create events, custom queries, and create burst and schedule them and deliver the information as required by project.

  • Monitoring day to day scheduled jobs

  • Trouble shooting report issues, system slowness. Create ODBC, OLE connections for SQL DB servers and TNS Entries in TNSNAME.Ora file on all BO processing servers.

  • Work with SAP Support in case any issue is not resolved internally.

  • Create Users, Groups and User access levels and provide the access to users on request of Application team.

  • Organizing the BO content (Delete, Move & edit).

  • Generate reports from query builder to extract the list of universes/reports project wise. Discuss performance issues with DBAs.

  • All Webi system administrations like user activities/ sessions enable/ disable users and modules (if required).

  • Taking Back up of reports/universes in destination system before creating Promotion management jobs.

  • Attending regular IT Calls for Business Objects.
