Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of two years financial experience at UGA Experience in managing revenue accounts Excellent written and oral communication skills Position Summary:The Business Manager for University of Georgia Police Department is a position responsible for oversight of daily fiscal and business affairs for the department. Responsibilities includes processing of daily business operations; managing external client relations and OneSource business profiles; assisting with grant processing and application; providing guidance and oversight for departmental inventory and annual audit; creating travel authorizations and expense reports for departmental employees; and reconciling and managing departmental chartstrings by maintaining internal accounting systems.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies: Functional working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and OneSource Financial Management System. Excellent communication skills necessary to maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external clients.

Working knowledge of UGA inventory procedures to include request for and issuance of property control tags (preferred). Ability to work with diverse groups at UGA and act with autonomy while serving the mission of UGA and the police department. Act in an independent manner with the utmost level of honesty and transparency. Exercise critical thinking skills to look at alternative solutions and business practices to make police department operations more efficient.

Willingness to be flexible with work schedule and accept a variety of roles within the organization as required to maintain efficient operations. Duties/Responsibilities:Business Operations: Maintain and manage daily business operations including but not limited to payment requests, UGAMart purchase requests, preparation and processing of journals, and PCard transactions (preferred PCard holder for police department) Manage and reconcile departmental accounts using internal accounting systems and generate reports for the Deputy Chief of Administrative, Fiscal, and Support Services to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to UGA reporting standards Analyze business operations, trends, and financial commitments in order to project future expenditures and revenues Manage departmental billing and invoicing for external and internal clients Manage grants (special projects) to include submission of applications, progress reports, and payment requests Perform other task as may be assigned by the Chief of Police or Deputy Chief of Administrative, Fiscal, and Support Services related to police department business and fiscal affairs or departmental outreach initiatives Working closely with UGPD HR Manager on position budgeting as it pertains to salary setting/ salary savings and year end budget projections.

Management of yearly BPSS process for UGPD Approval of UGPD position funding changes and requests Serves as Liaison for UGPD in all business and financial responsibilities with UGA Business Services and external customers and constituents. Percentage of time:60 Duties/Responsibilities:Internal/External Customer Service: Generate quarterly memorandums of understanding for external UGA clients to provide periodic patrols of specified properties and locations.
