Technica is accepting applications for the position of Business Manager. The position is located at Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
Guided by Company objectives and priorities and working closely with the Project Manager, and functional leads, leads the administrative support and operations functions of Alaska based Technica L.L.C. to ensure Fiscal, Administrative and Business needs are effectively addressed and coordinated. With Project Manager and functional leads, plans and coordinates projects related to operational and administrative improvements, best practices, and overall office maintenance. Manages talent development and performance evaluations with vision toward evolving needs. Ensures client services and satisfaction are attained in all areas of position.
Budget and Account Management including analysis and reconciliation of operating unit reports. Provide recommendations to the Project Manager for handling unusual or non-recurring transactions.
Contract Management- Review contract documents and modifications, make recommendations to the PM and Corporate staff, maintain contract compliance with company policy, Government law, and installation regulations, ensure proper tracking and status reporting.
Provide managerial guidance, overseeing service standards and metrics, service delivery, and team objectives. Supervise functional leads.
With functional leads, set and communicate performance standards and competencies to ensure administrative and operations staff are developed to meet evolving business needs; ensure timekeepers are informed of administrative staff standards and competencies.
Oversee the evaluation process for administration and operations staff, including annual reviews, introductory reviews, and formal check-in meetings. Coach supervisors on performance and talent objectives. Ensure evaluation process is integrated into framework of ongoing skills development and continuous improvement. Recommend compensation to reward and support top performance, including merit increases, bonuses, adjustments, high personal services awards, etc.
Collaborating closely with Project Manager, Human Resources, General supervisors, provides leadership, strategic direction, and management for administrative services, ensuring they are structured and staffed to achieve business, and client service objectives.
Oversee staffing allocation and achieve service and cost objectives through forecasting, planning, insight into practice needs, and innovative approach.
Collaborate with Project Manager on staffing and space plans and underlying business and service objectives; develop and manage department budgets.
Manage expenses related to staff salaries; monitor overtime, temporary staffing and training expenses.
Participate in and provide leadership to relevant corporate initiatives; collaborate closely with peer managers inside and outside of the Company to establish network for idea exchange, outside thinking, and data for improvements.
Education and Experience
Five or more years in a strategic leadership role in the professional services industry.
Bachelors degree or relevant equivalent experience
Three or more years in Finance/Accounting with demonstrated experience in multi-funded budget reconciliation.
Three or more years in Operations or Contract Management.
Significant experience in supervising managers and a large function; experience in managing an administrative support function preferable.
