Summary:
The Business Manager is accountable for the financial management of our maintenance business, reviewing market-based pricing and formulating pricing strategies for the business. The Business Manager is a key partner of the Vice President of Maintenance and recommends changes in the business model, performance inconsistencies within the team or against the industry, and proper staffing levels to maintain a profitable business. The Business Manager is involved in the overall strategic planning for the maintenance team, budgeting and financial management, asset tracking, scheduling, and maintaining relationships with third party vendors and contractors.
Qualifications for Business Manager at Shelter Corporation:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Management Finance, or related degree required
Experience in the Property Management industry or a related type of maintenance industry preferred but not required
Business Management experience with a former responsibility for profit and loss preferred
Experience with analyzing Key Performance Indicators as well as establishing and tracking metrics related to those KPIs
Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, with an ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems, facility management software, and other relevant software tools
A desire to learn and analyze a business at a very detailed level
Ability to establish and meet project deadlines, forecast project delays, and develop contingency plans when needed
