Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years managing a business or team in the building products industry

  • Bachelor degree in business or a technical field

  • Understanding of business finances and demonstrated ability to apply knowledge to business profitability improvement

  • Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and implement change in an organization

  • Evidence of ability to manage talent in an organization, including development and execution of talent strategies around performance management, people development, incentives and succession planning.

  • Experience with and demonstrated use of best practices in a functional role (i.e., sales excellence, operations excellence)

Essential Responsibilities: * Supervise inside sales personnel synchronizing product manufacturing, sales, and logistics, while accepting ultimate responsibility for the quality of service provided by direct reports. * Conduct quarterly, annual, or interim reviews on a formal and informal basis. * Address office coverage commensurate with vacation, travel, or other absences. * Development and oversee a strategy that promotes the professional development of direct reports. * In alignment with strategic plans and annual target goals, manage and direct the inside sales team to achieve the highest possible sales and profit goals at or above target levels for their assigned areas of responsibility. Conduct actions in a joint manner with the applicable Strategic Account or Territory Sales Managers. * Recommend changes to current inside sales techniques or procedures based on team performance and new selling methods. * Expand and document any policies & procedures in the Industrial Products Playbook. * Influence and help build the relationship between the customer, inside & outside sales groups, mill personnel, and sales management. * Continue to impress the significance of inside sales contributions to growing the business. * Communicate all activities to inside, outside sales, management, and production personnel, those events that have a positive or negative impact on operational performance. * Oversee weekly inside sales meeting to review recent activity, communicate performance relative to forecast and return, convey any additional elements impacting personnel, and sales or production capabilities. * Participate in weekly leadership meetings and other non-scheduled engagements to maximize group performance. * Facilitate weekly sales & operations conference calls. * Maintain ownership of information posted on Industrial Products Sales component of SharePoint. * Analyze and communicate inventory levels, scheduling, customer demands, top account performance, and production to determine factors that affect customer satisfaction and sales. * Communicate with manufacturing facilities and sales to ensure timely movement of aged or overstock items. Take a proactive approach to gathering and soliciting information to sales groups to ensure expedited actions are being taken to move inventory in a timely manner. * Coordinate Taylorsville SkyBlend runs while reinforcing established minimum production procedures. Balance production lead-times with internal & external customer demand. * Operate as information channel for inside and outside sales personnel as needed to address order files, production capabilities, etc. * Monitor order entry volume levels to ensure proper mill loading with respect to requested booking levels, manufacturing capabilities, and established minimum production procedures. Make adjustments as needed to maximize order placement, while still allowing for timely shipments. * Function as primary contact for resolution of manufacturing issues related to order entry, mill loading, production setbacks, etc. * Review order acknowledgement and commit to manufacturing activity to ensure timely completion of order entry process prior to production. * Review the late order and carryover reports, and communicate timely status of both customer will-call and other aged orders. * Review Daily Margin and Order Entry Reports, addressing inconsistencies with pricing, shipments, or margin levels as needed. Communicate with respective plant controllers as needed to address any ambiguities regarding margins. * Assist in management of item creation and product setup. Ensure accuracy and consistency of properties related to description, weight & freight divisors, and review with plant personnel and accounting as needed. * Operate as focal point for credit, order entry, system, invoicing, or shipment issues with any order entered & shipped out of Eastern facilities. Attend to these matters as needed. * Review monthly A/R Credit report, drawing attention to those accounts with aged outstanding transactions (credits or debits), and dispatching applicable ISM's to offer assistance to Springfield HQ to clear. * Maintain and enhance customer satisfaction through management of processes and implementation of information system utilities via Oracle EnterpriseOne. * Serve as primary Eastern Regional contact for interaction with IT personnel to develop or enhance system capabilities related to E1 or OBIEE. * Assist in the execution of sales strategies supporting all industrial products for sales. * Manage the daily logistical & operational environment of the Eastern Regional Office. * Create and maintain a Client Centric culture in all business activities. Oversee implementation of agendas & performance figures for appropriate level client sales meetings & business reviews (reference Client Centricity Playbook).
