Responsibilities

OVERVIEW

The Business Manager is responsible for resolving member issues, collecting on returned accounts, implementing and overseeing all financial transactions, operations, and reports, processing EFT/ACH transactions, submitting payroll reports, and acting as a point person for Active software operations.

This person will oversee the checks and balances related to daily financial transactions and software operations, and will support the GM and other staff with solutions to software issues.

This person is responsible for being fully knowledgeable about the Center and its operations, programs, and services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Financial:

  • Oversee all departmental financial transaction/operational procedures by assisting with development of those procedures, with hands-on training and evaluation of staff directly involved in the processes.

  • Reconcile register and shift reports, overseeing all financial system controls.

  • Prepare and process bank deposits with internal report for the GM review.

  • Perform monthly billing/invoicing.

  • Manage accounts receivable/collections process.

  • Oversee all member records, including updates, billing changes, policy administration, etc.

  • Oversee all accounts payable functions.

  • Reconcile bank statements for all accounts monthly.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly club reports as needed.

  • Work with other department managers on departmental financial analysis and review.

  • Assist in review and submission of bi-monthly payroll.

  • Participate in Center and community events as needed.

  • Perform various other specific duties and assignments as necessary or required.

  • Participate in Manager on Duty rotation.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years previous experience in a similar role.

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exhibit the ability to resolve complaints and analyze information.

  • Extremely personable, professional, and hard-working with exceptions organizational skills.

  • Proven ability to utilize computer software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Email, Internet.

  • Current CPR and AED certification (can be acquired)

Physical Requirements

  • Requires long periods of standing or sitting.

  • Moderate use of computer terminal screen, right or left hand use, Typing.

  • Grasping and gripping movements

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. Some lifting may require additional assistance from another staff person. Employee expected to use discretionary judgment and ask for assistance from another employee if an item is perceived to be too heavy to lift without assistance.

  • Use of personal safety equipment required.

  • Frequent use of chemicals, including cleaning and laundry supplies.

  • Continuous exposure to moderate to loud noise.

  • Occasional exposure to bodily fluids.

  • Occasional lifting, pulling, climbing, kneeling, and bending.

Major Position Responsibilities Essential Functions: * Works closely with business/functional area owners and staff to ensure all applications deliverables meet business requirements, as well as, expectations for cost, quality and schedule. * Evaluates project/task status and resource utilization and implements changes as necessary to improve team effectiveness and to ensure alignment with IT business goals and key initiatives. * Delegates tasks and/or responsibilities to subordinate members of the team for action according to their level of applications experience and assigned accountability. * Consults with business unit management to identify opportunities for increased functionality of applications portfolio. * Creates and executes strategies to introduce: new methodologies, process and technology changes to cut costs, improve operational efficiencies, increase levels of quality, and advance customer satisfaction. Ensures new processes are properly documented and are compliant with standards, regulations and/or guidelines. * Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the team to senior/executive management and analyzes discrepancies and initiates corrections as required and communicates business results to the team and other key stakeholders. * Determines goals, timelines, budgets, staffing requirements and allotment of applications resources. * Provides leadership, guidance, coaching and performance reviews for team members and assigned contractors. Communicates business/technology vision, strategy/plans and defines team success criteria. Additional Functions: * Builds, fosters and promotes positive relationships among the applications team, key stakeholders internal and external to IT necessary for success. * Demonstrated experience with implementing ERP applications. * Proven ability to integrate across the applications and infrastructure environments to address technical problems and develop long-term plans. * Project management responsibilities managing medium to large scale software development projects. * Performs other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Business Administration from four-year college or university. Minimum of 10+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
