The primary purpose of the Business Manager is to manage and administer the financial and infrastructural functions of the Department of Biological Sciences in a manner compliant with college and university policies and procedures. Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to: budget and finance operations, equipment acquisition and maintenance, facility planning and needs, payroll processing, accounts payable and purchasing transactions, and post-award grant management. This position is a Grade: 9 - 40 with an approximate salary range of $54,390-$66,190 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications

1.Administer Department Accounts and Finances
Reconcile university reports with departmental records.
Review and ensure financial information is complete and accurate, make changes as necessary.
Process all necessary paperwork related to accounts payable/receivable such as purchase orders, purchase requisitions, blanket orders, reallocations, deposit transmittals, payment reimbursement forms, travel reimbursements.
2.Manage Departmental Payroll Activities
Maintain all confidential payroll and personnel records, including Faculty and Staff.
Prepare confidential correspondence regarding payroll and salary issues.
Prepare all payroll assignment/appointment forms (new and revised) for Faculty, Staff, Research Scientists, Graduate Students and Undergraduate Students.
4.Manage Departmental Infrastructural Needs
Research and recommend office equipment purchases.
Serve as primary contact with Building Manager.
Identify building maintenance issues and communicate needs to appropriate Facilities Office.
5.Analyze and Advise on Procedures, Accounts and Liaison Program
Compile statistics, prepare reports and generate spreadsheets as requested.
Identify issues related to departmental accounts.
Provide possible strategies to Department and individual Faculty Members related to large expenditures.

Qualifications
Associates Degree in Accounting/Website Development or a related field; Bachelor's Degree preferred
Three to five years of related work experience
Combination of education and appropriate experience acceptable
Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
