Job Summary: (includes but is not limited to the following; other duties may be assigned):

Responsible for the administrative and financial functions of a power plant, including financial forecasting, budgeting, purchasing, accounting, HR, payroll, benefits, and inventory control. Manages plant APR, Warehouse and administrative personnel. Ensures
compliance with all corporate policies and procedures, and maintains records and files for the power plant. Establishes administrative controls for all accounting functions, including general reporting, budgeting, and contract administration, in accordance
with established policies and procedures, client requirements, and applicable government regulations.

  • Leads the researches for innovations from external sources, and identifies opportunities to develop new processes, tools, services and techniques within the function.

  • Works on complex issues and projects.

  • Uses independent judgment requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Independently selects methods, techniques, analytical approach and evaluation criteria.

  • Determines methods and procedures for new assignments.

  • Serves as project/technical lead on medium to large projects; regularly coordinates work of professionals, technicians and others outside of own department.

  • Trains and mentors employees on technical skills.

  • Collaborate and solve problems works with others to resolve significant issues, clarify or interpret complex information, provide initial screening/negotiations.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in budgeting, forecasting and project management across multiple functions or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Strong knowledge of PeopleSoft, Maximo, Hyperion and ImageNow is highly preferred.

VIEW JOBS 10/12/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-10T00:00 The Business Manager provides administrative, event and financial management to the Institute for Data, Intelligent Systems and Computation (I-DISC). The person in this position will work closely with the Co-Directors of the Institute to develop and manage budgets, operations and to provide the Institute with event and marketing management. Accountabilities: * Budget development, financial planning and management for the Institute's operations and programs * Full fiscal responsibility for I-DISC operations * Development of I-DISC annual operational budget based on available operating revenue * Periodic reviews of I-DISC financial indexes, with responsibility to apprise I-DISC Directors of areas of concern and opportunities for improvement * Collaboration with I-DISC faculty and researchers to identify and resolve financial issues related to the Institute's projects and programs. * Collaborate with the Institute's Centers and Proto Centers to assist in financial management and structure * Financial and administrative management * Process payroll related transactions and provide payroll reports * Maintain all Institute staffing records * Manage the invoicing, procurement and recharge processes; maintain all invoicing and payment records * Prepare and submit necessary documentation to establish project accounts * Manage expense reporting process * Process financial transactions in the Banner Financial System * Prepare annual budgets and budget requests for the faculty for the Institute finances * Prepare budgets for faculty research grants and proposals; analyze financial requirements for potential RFP's to determine if appropriate * Prepare and maintain accounts payable reports * Prepare analysis of accounts as required * Event planning and management * Arrange meetings as necessary for the Institute and take meeting minutes * Provide conference logistical and administrative management; be the point person to manage and coordinate conferences and events for faculty, external speakers and guests * Manage all external speakers and guests travel, materials and logistical arrangements * Process payments and reimbursements associated with events for the institute including vendors, faculty and guest speakers * Provide meeting material coordination an administrative support to meetings including ensuring that any meeting materials for the meeting and pre-readings are prepared * Manage and coordinate outside speakers and lecturers; act as the point person for bringing guests to campus and ensuring their visit is exceptional and seamless * Negotiate contracts with vendors; identify and secure conference space and arrangements * Administrative management and operations oversight * Full responsibility of the daily operations of the Institute * Provide administrative support to the Co-Directors * Purchase office equipment, supplies and negotiate with vendors * Supervise and advise staff and work study students; process paperwork and time sheets; perform performance evaluations * Coordinate space allocations * Process work orders * Act as the Employment Coordinator for the Institute * Communications * Produce reports, flyers and newsletters for the Institute as needed for various events and research announcements * Maintain the Institute website, keep up to date on social media outlets for promotion and information use for the Institute * Work with Rossin College Director of Marketing and Communications to ensure communications and web activity for the Institute is coordinated with the media standards of the College Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Communications or related degree required * Three to five years related work experience * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Excellent writing ability and organizational skills * Ability to complete projects on time and on budget, and report on status and progress * Solid analytical, decision making and problem solving skills * Solid computer skills with experience using word processing and spreadsheet software * Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, county and national criminal background checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance.
