To develop complete customer satisfaction and to meet/exceed target sales volume for Atlas Copco IAS products for defined customer base.

Job Responsibilities

  • Define the market potential for Atlas Copco IAS products within the growing Tier & General Industry (GI) segment.

  • Work with local and division teams to align global understanding of the potential.

  • Identify IAS products / solutions available to penetrate the market and gain market share.

  • Become the local solutions expert as it relates to Tier / GI technologies and applicable product solutions.

  • Lead the overall local program strategy for all Tier suppliers / GI OEMs - in effort to earn 100% of the business/programs.

  • Regular engagement / collaboration / communication with GKAM or Business Manager.

  • Initiate regular plant visits with sales personnel in efforts to communicate strategic initiatives, develop customer specific sales material, teach, support, and coach. Serve as an active resource for our efforts with the key account(s) globally.

  • Responsible for the local market support of our customers and equipment manufacturers (relationship management); generate project lists; customer mapping.

  • Local market screening (competitor, producer, technology/product, market size, segment, price, etc.); maintenance of standard reporting.

  • Create/communicate best practice sales and marketing material to all remote customer centers.

  • Participate in project strategy when the decision maker/process is outside the US.

  • Support blanket price agreements/negotiations which are outside the US.

  • Provide guidance and support as requested by any Atlas Copco personnel regarding their efforts with the key accounts plant(s) in their region.

Educational requirements

Bachelors Degree in Engineering

  • Electrical / Industrial / Mechanical / Mechatronics would be a plus

Bachelors Degree in Business

  • Focus on sales / marketing / strategic product development

Comprehensive technical knowledge

Minimum 7 years of experience selling techncal devices to the automotive industry specifically related to sestainable energy and/or battery propulsion

Knowledge in industrial dispensing systems and mechanical joining

The role reports to the VP Sales & Marketing - RA division and will eligible to work remote, reporting to the office in Auburn Hills, Michigan. As a Global Business Develop Manager Retail & Restaurant, you will be responsible to lead the development of these areas within CSSR - Consumer Segment & Service Robotics. ABB Robotics created this year the new Global Business Line (GBL) -CSSR to develop the robotics business beyond industry and manufacturing. The first focus segments will be Food & Beverage, Logistics, Healthcare (non-surgical) and Retail & Restaurants. To boost and accelerate the Retail & Restaurants activity, ABB will create small core team of highly skilled people to develop the business with the goal to map the opportunities for robotics in these new markets, develop a portfolio of solutions, a go to market strategy, and ultimately a strategy to scale the business across the world after the initial phase of piloting. The overall strategy also must include M&A options. The team will work with and leverage on our 500+ Business Line employees which provide expertise in Logistics, very much tied to some applications in large central kitchens or click and collect micro-sites. For Restaurants, the main applications we aim at are in food preparation facilities which today are evolving very rapidly (from classic QSR operations - McDonalds, Pizza Hut etc. to Dark Kitchens belonging to Food Apps like Deliveroo, JustEat, Doordash, UberEats etc. to large Catering companies like Aramark, Eurest etc.). Here robots can assemble food, fry, portion, store/ retrieve, order pick, pack, etc. In this area, partnerships with Kitchen OEMs will be crucial to develop a dual go to market (companies like Franke, Antunes, Welbit etc.). For Retail, the scope is broader and at much earlier stage we see fast dynamics on Click & Collects automated systems in stores, Stand Alone Robotic Lockers and going forward mobile robots for inventory checking, replenishment and customer support. Your responsibilities * Map the Retail and Restaurants industry (QSR companies, Food Delivery Apps, Kitchen OEMs, etc.) to create a segmentation, targeting, go-to-market & positioning strategy. * Map the Food preparation processes to identify and prioritize which applications (largest ROI to customers, Largest volume/profit for ABB) we will start with. * These will be the basis for our portfolio creation. * This will be done in close cooperation with Retail & Restaurants Chief Engineer. * Create strong relationship with key customers and stakeholders to progressively create a business and build ABB's brand into the sector. * All these constitute a complete business strategy that needs to be built and then implemented. * To implement we will have to design how we scale out of pilot phase (set-up a proper incubator site- in which country/ies), M&As etc. Your background * Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business or Engineering and minimum 8 years of experience in Business development, Automation, Engineering, Sales, Marketing. * Masters' Degree is highly preferred. * Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the USA. * Open to travel about 50%. * 3 years' Experience in a managerial role (local or global teams) is ideal. Proven team leadership skills and ability to influence others at all levels of an organization. * Extensive experience in Food Service Industry, preferably in Equipment OEM Sales and Business Development (Franke, Welbit, Antunes etc.) or End customers Operations (McDonalds, Wendy's etc.). * Experience in retail food is also valuable. * Knowledge on Automation/ Robotics desirable but not mandatory. * Able to influence key stakeholders as needed.
