The role:

The Business Lead, Student Loan Refinancing, is responsible for managing the successful operation of SoFi's Student Loan Refinancing business, and helping to drive its growth. The role is responsible for managing day to day execution of the business, working with a cross-functional team including such key functions as Marketing, Finance, Pricing, Operations, Technology, and our risk and compliance partners.  The role will also collaborate with the Business Unit leader on developing strategic initiatives addressing growth, operational excellence, and financial performance, and then overseeing cross-functional execution.

What you'll do:

  • Perform targeted strategic, market, competitor and financial analysis to highlight market trends and target opportunities

  • Working with the SLR Head, continuously manage the prioritization of Marketing, Pricing, Operations, Product, Engineering  and other initiatives that deliver against goals for business growth, member satisfaction, and profitability

  • Lead targeted cross-functional business growth and improvement initiatives (e.g., product and go-to-market innovations)

  • Provide primary business unit leadership for EPD and Operations initiatives

  • Lead the execution of the SLR businesses' obligations related to Risk Management, Compliance, Business Controls, and Regulatory matters

  • Develop and provide regular reporting on business performance/analytics and ensure timely communication to the Executive Team and the Board

  • Own and update the SLR business's program guidelines

What you'll need:

  • Minimum of 9+ years in financial services, with experience spanning analytical, strategic, and business line general management roles

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or related field

  • Demonstrated track record of successful business execution - developing meaningful business insights, and meeting OKRs

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a broad, talented, cross-functional team

  • Curiosity

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Flexible and collaborative approach to problem solving and ideation

  • Respect for the member/customer experience

Nice to have:

  • MBA preferred but not required

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.

Pay range: $134,400.00 - $231,000.00

Payment frequency: Annual
