The role

As a Business Lead at SoFi, you will be responsible for managing the execution, performance and strategy of key initiatives for a specific business unit.

What you'll do:

  • Set the long-term strategy of Lantern that both help our members Get Their Money Right and drive SoFi overall performance objectives

  • Work with the full cross-functional team (marketing, product, design, engineering, compliance, risk, and operations) for your lines of business & initiatives, to help them execute on the strategic vision

  • Drive strategic initiatives (including product and business model innovation), working with other SoFi businesses and functional leaders to differentiate our platform

  • Participate in resourcing / budget, marketing strategy, and product roadmap discussions, advocating for your business lines and initiatives

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and non-financial reporting and deliverables for your business lines, engaging with key stakeholders across all functions.

  • Continuously manage the prioritization of various initiatives with a focused customer outcome and for the benefit of the overall franchise

  • Ensure appropriate and accurate flow of information across all constituents

What you'll need:

  • Full stack "operator": ability to both create and execute the business strategy; with clear objectives, but limited, ambiguous, or varied direction

  • Ability to operate cross-functionally, leading and influencing colleagues, and ultimately leading to timely tactical decision making to advance our objectives

  • Flexible and collaborative approach to problem solving and ideation

  • Excellent written and oral communicator

  • Deep curiosity for how complex (financial) systems work, and an ability to internalize and analyze this information quickly

  • A blend of demonstrated business, marketing, product management, financial management and execution skills

  • Expertise in the generalist business "toolkit" (i.e., spreadsheets / modeling, presentation creation, narrative writing, oral presentation)

Nice to have:

  • Experience in consumer financial services

  • Experience in a cold start business or startup environment

  • Data and analytics technical capabilities (tableau preferred)

Responsibilities: I want to and can do that! * Understand the company's operating model and commercial objectives and how they translate into efficient and standardized business processes * Assist with process management and process re-engineering efforts; anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop/implement solutions * Apply functional expertise process reengineering methodologies to ensure organizational effectiveness objectives are met * Apply various methodologies and techniques to analyze the "AS IS" and foster cross-functional alignment on the "TO BE" * Bring together requirements and use cases from subject matter authorities using interviews, document analysis, requirement workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis * Proactively communicate with IT to define and implement system solutions * Create a formal network and acts as the liaison between business stakeholders, users, and technical teams * Own the overall drafting of business requirements / use cases, test scripts / acceptance criteria, and training materials for various initiatives. * Collaborates with the business to ensure business readiness and transfer knowledge for any new process / system. * Leverage deep subject matter expertise and previous experience to ensure it business capabilities are designed, developed, and managed correctly Requirements: I've already done that or have that! * Minimum of 10 years of management consulting and/or Business Process Improvement experience * Deep experience in the Sales, Customer Success and/or Finance areas in a SaaS environment * Experience and expertise across end-to-end business cycles -- particularly in high-growth, highly-scaled SaaS environment or company shifting from perpetual to SaaS business model * Strong background in establishing current state business process models and providing process improvement / redesign * Solid experience in a high growth, highly scaled SaaS environment * Strong organizational and business analysis skills * Familiar with agile software delivery frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, XP, etc.) in efforts to automate, improve, or redesign business processes * Solid understanding of enterprise technologies (SAP, Salesforce, CPQ, Workday, Gainsight, etc.) * Ability to work across cross functional group and ensure ability to influence and execute across groups * A passion for technology and an ability to identify new opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness * Consulting or Six Sigma experience preferred Education: Got it! * Bachelor's degree/foreign equivalent in a related subject area or substantial relevant on the job experience * Post-graduate or professional degrees preferred (MBA a plus) We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
