Business Intelligence Report Developer III

Essential Functions:

• Leads in business analysis activities to gather stakeholders' reporting and dashboard requirements. Determines stakeholders' objectives, important metrics, and method of performance measurement.

• Develops design from storyboards to final reports implementing technology best practices, guidelines, and repeatable processes.

• Partners with business units and subject matter experts to capture analytical requirements. Designs reporting schemas and data marts.

• Translates business requirements into technical requirements to implement reports and dashboards created from multiple data sources.

• Determines and analyzes the data sources required for each report. Models data schemas to support ad-hoc and pre-built reports.

• Develops reporting schemas and data marts.

• Builds reports, dashboards and visualizations using BI tools.

• Reviews report changes and documents to ensure proper configuration management and change controls are implemented for report development and analytic life cycle.

• Partners with Strategic Analytics teams to design, develop and maintain ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.

• Provides technical assistance and cross training on BI reports to team members. Leads design and development of testing plans.

• Analyzes and corrects complex program logic problems.

• Reviews production data and reports to ensure data quality and integrity.

• Creates documentation templates and overall documentation plans for Corporate Reporting Services.

• Option to work at headquarters in Des Moines, IA or work from a home office located anywhere in the U.S.

Education & Experience:

• Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related computer field.

• 4 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Report Developer III, Business Intelligence Report Developer, BI Analyst, or similar duties under a different job title.

• EMC will accept as equivalent a Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of progressive experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 4 years with Power BI, Tableau, IBM, or Cognos

• 4 years with analytics and reporting lifecycle

• 4 years with developing enterprise-scale reports and dashboards

• 4 years with developing descriptive statistics

• 4 years with preparing big datasets

• 4 years with SSRS and SSIS

• 4 years with MongoDB, Hortonworks, Azure, and AWS

• 4 years with SQL, Python, or R

• 4 years with Star and Snowflake Schema

• 4 years with Cube design and development

Hiring wage range for this position is $118,830 to $124,000.
