As a leader of the Data Engineering and Governance team, this position will play a role in the evaluation, definition, design and deployment of IT and related business initiatives. A major focus for this position will encompass many phases of SQL Development and staff direction to ensure that development and support remain incongruous to the organization as a whole. The primary role of the position will be to assist in the expansion of the banks existing SQL Server infrastructure and advance our corporate Data Engineering and Governance initiative. The individual will ensure that best practices are met and maintained through the development life cycle and ongoing review. Under general direction, the incumbent/candidate for this position must be able to lead and evaluate and implement potential solutions. At this level, it is expected that these responsibilities are carried out under direct supervision and/or assignment. This individual will be responsible to manage and direct others.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1.Assist/lead with the evaluation of solutions based on technical and business need.
2.Assist/lead the design & implementation of designates solutions utilizing the RTC methodology.
3.Manage non-direct/direct resources on a project basis
4.Manger and direct a team of direct reports in daily operational duties.
5.Possess understanding of best practices in development.
6.Keep abreast of developments within SQL and overall architecture/platform.
7.Assist with the development, implementation, & management of solutions with internal and external; resources.
8.Possess experience with data mapping and general data integration practices.
9.Serve as an advocate for Information Services throughout the corporation and liaison to assigned business units.
Under direct supervision and as assigned, provide technical advice and assistance to other departments and staff members with database, system integration and general project issues.

Assist in establishing budget as well as business case justification for line item budget entries
Effective recruit, train and retain a talented development team.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
BA in Computer Science with 6 years of experience developing solutions on MS SQL platform
or 7 years experience developing solutions on MS SQL platform
Strong knowledge of Bitbucket, JIRA, SSAS, SSRS and Microsoft tool sets
Highly proficient in creating Stored Procedures, View, and User Defined Functions
Knowledge of performance tuning methodologies
Working knowledge of Microsoft Analysis Services and Microsoft Reporting Services
2-3 years managerial experience in a team approach environment
Experience with SQL 2008 a plus
Financial/Regulatory Industry experience a plus
ODBC Interface with IBM AS400 a plus
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
