Responsibilities

The Business Intelligence Lead will support market and corporate leaders by providing data-driven insights on the performance of provider contracts and related processes. Candidates should be able to explore, analyze, and present insights from complex datasets. In this role, you will exercise independent judgement and will advise leadership based on an accurate understanding and interpretation of trends observed in data and forecasts while working under minimal supervision. The Business Intelligence Lead:

  • Works with senior sales leadership to understand business strategy and data analysis needs

  • Analyzes data to derive insights

  • Optimizes databases and tables to maximize performance of data processes and BI tools

  • Partners with business and technology teams to identify data and technology related needs

  • Writes queries to mine, integrate, summarize, and analyze data from various platforms

  • Builds online interactive reports

  • Leads cross-functional initiatives

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in provider contracting and claims data

  • Consults with business teams on processes, data, and technology related to distribution

  • Provides mentoring to teammates in order to promote best practices and grow the organization

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of technical experience in data analysis OR Master's degree and 4+ years of experience

  • 2+ years of project leadership experience

  • Advanced experience working with querying and manipulating large, complex data sets within large organizations

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL across a variety of database environments

  • Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and creating data visualizations that drive strategic direction using Excel and Power BI

  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and translate requirements between business, project management and technical projects or programs while managing multiple priorities

  • Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data

  • Proficiency in verbal/written communication to senior and executive leadership

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field

  • Experience with Tableau and Qlikview for creating data visualizations

  • Experience with Microsoft PowerApps and PowerAutomate

  • Experience using MS SQL Server, Oracle, PL/SQL, Hive and Hadoop

  • Experience with Power BI report builder

  • Experience analyzing medical claims

  • Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors

The National Medicaid Quality and Risk Adjustment team is committed to advancing the related capabilities across the Medicaid line of business through the development and administration of national programs, cross functional coordination of Quality and Risk Adjustment activities, business development support, new market implementation, and ongoing wrap around market support. Responsibilities The Business Intelligence Engineer describes the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.
